My 01 Yamaha R6 speedometer seems to read higher than I'm actually travelling. I'm on the highway and my speedometer will be reading 140 km/h and cars are keeping up and passing me. Typically in my car on the same highway if I was going that fast I'd be passing everyone. It's happened several times so it can't be all a coincidentplease advise

Most likely you have a bad sensor indicating a speed that is incorrect. Unfortunately you probably need to have it fixed at a shop or learn to know your exact speed from the tach and gear you are in.

My 05 Focus speedometer is wacky. All other gauges and systems work fine. The speedometer needle doesn't go to zero when vehicle stops moving.

Sounds like the speedometer is faulty. If the speed sensor were the problem, the odometer would not work correctly, the transmission would not shift correctly, and the check engine light would be on.
