My bike loses all electrical power when riding in the city after it gets hot. Three dealers have performed numerous fixes to no avail. The engine is not overheating.
This problem has affected may of us. The problem could be the ignition switch. I have changed 3 on my bike and have had 2 other friends that have 2004 FLHTCU And 2004 FLTC that have had to do the same. Ae there any other symtoms? Do your Lights stay on or quit what esle is affected?
Could be the regulator/rectifier unit at the front of the engine. I replaced one recently with a new ,non genuine Harley part and that was faulty too. When I replaced that the problem was fixed. Don't waste your money on cheap parts.

No lights or anything, hav to reset the clock even after power comes back on. I have learned from others it is likely the circuit breaker tripping after it gets hot. This makes sense. HD needs to come up with a fix. After 2004 they started using fuses instead of a breaker. They had a recall on 2003's that had a 40 amp and replaced it with a 50 amp. They have replaced 4 of my circuit breakers. The wierd thing is my bike has over 66,000 miles on it and never had this problem except for the last year. I have had a couple of ignitin switches replaced also.
Did you find a solution? Mine is doing the exact same thing.....
