I have trouble keeping my c50 2005 Suzuki idling...had the TPS replaced and cant keep it running at Idle consistantly. Have been back to the shop twice, but bike will still die....sometimes it will idle fine, but 90% of the time it dies at intersections.

Had the same thing on several customers' C50Ts.

Adjust valves,
Clean injectors.
Set TPS and STPS.

Sounds like it is fuel-related, but....if you have never adjusted the valves, it may be part of the solution. Not easy, but most experience a performance boost, particularly at idle, if they were not within the range.

97 tacoma runs a few seconds and dies. will stay running if you keep foot on gas for a few mins then let off. crankshaft sensor code, replaced it but still get code. could it be iac or tps

If the code for the crank sensor comes back, then there's still a fault in that circuit. Check for sensor resistance and wiring harness short or open. Crank sensor resistance should be 1,630 -2,740 ohms when cold. TPS would not cause those symptoms. IAC could cause rough idle but wouldn't affect higher RPMs. Bad coolant temp sensor could also be part of the problem. Bad sensor = ECM thinks engine is warmer than it is and provides too lean a mixture. But fix the crank sensor issue first since that affects the fuel injectors.

1990 wrangler with a 4cyl was dying at idle found the vac line to the map sensor had a crack replaced it and reset the computer. Still dies at idle and now cuts out at higher rpm. Have to fan clutch th...

It could be a combination of 2 things. A faulty MAP sensor itself or a bad TPS (throttle position sensor). It's not uncommon for a bad TPS to idle when the motor is cold but once warm, not idle fast enough to keep the vehicle running.

Replacing TPS cant get it right car keeps revving up and down on 85 celica supra

Hi, if the problem is at idle, it may be caused by a clogged PCV system. The idle controller needs the PCV flow to maintain a steady idle. Remove the PCV valve and hose and clean them with carb cleaner until you can get a good flow thru the system. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

induction clean,(that means intake manifold clean inside)sometimes that area throttle body, and intake manifold get contaminated , and make that problems (low idle) . take it to you mecanic and ask for; throttle and intake manifold service. on the ignition switch spray some w40 in where the key goes.. ( if you want to do the clean service yourself go get intake manifold cleaner at the autoparts and follow the instructions (how to apply it).

Car will not Idle

The TPS must be set with a voltage meter. What are the code numbers? Air flow meter will not let it idle too. Get a used one to save you money. Be sure you do not have the ecm number 1228253 in it also, they will make the car shut off while driving. I have one of the cars with 295,000 miles on it.

98 lincoln cont. idle speeds up in park...sometimes keeps climbing to around 2500 rpm...sometimes idle is normal though. If in drive and idle is climbing, can drive without using the accelerator!

I had the same problem. I changed the throttle position sensor (TPS). I haven't had any trouble since I replaced mine about three months ago.
