When are you experiencing backfiring? During deceleration? Is the engine hot, cold or does it backfire all the time?

Backfiring during deceleration is caused by even small leaks in the headpipe and/or rich carburetion. I suggest checking your pipe for leaks and look into your jetting.

Some occassional backfiring is typical.

I have a Model# TSSTTVXXLL toaster oven and it clicks back on when it is turned off. What can be done to repair? I am afraid it will cause a fire.

Get rid of it before it starts a fire. No spare /repair parts are available because of the litigation risk. Thank the lawyers.

2008 chrysler 300 under hood fire. looking for common problems. wire burnt on egr tube. is this normal?

I have been a Chrysler Technician for 13 years and I have never seen any under hood fire issues with the 300. My first question would be is have you had any other repairs done recently. The EGR valve is on the back of the right cylinder head, and the EGR tube runs across the back of the engine to the intake manifold. If repairs were made and the wiring was not routed correctly it may have caused your problem.

Last nigh my Maytag dishwasher model # MDB7100Aww serial # 15666931YM caught fire. Luckily I heard it and was able to put the fire out before my house caught fire. Has there been a recall on this model...

Hi,

Yes, there was a product recall for your Dishwasher due to fire hazard. Please visit the following pages for further information:

https://repair.maytag.com/repair/dishwasher.jsp?siteCd=MT_EN_US

https://repair.maytag.com/repair/dish_faq.jsp?siteCd=MT_EN_US

The list includes model numbers beginning MDB7 with serial numbers ending in YM, so yours is one of the units affected.

With regard to repair / replacement / compensation, Maytag state the following:

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using these dishwashers, disconnect the electric supply by shutting off the fuse or circuit breaker controlling it and inform all users of the dishwasher about the risk of fire. Contact Maytag for either a free in-home repair, or a $75 cash back reimbursement following the purchase of a new Maytag®, Jenn-Air®, Whirlpool® or KitchenAid® dishwasher. Consumers should not return the dishwasher to the retailer where it was purchased, as retailers are not prepared to take units back.
Consumer Contact: For more information, contact Maytag Corporation at (800) 675-0535 anytime, or visit the firm's Web site at www.repair.maytag.com.

Hope this helps - I would advise phoning them on the number above to find out what your exact position is as this recall was issued in 2007. However, there should not be any time limitations on claims and this still appears to be an active recall. They have admitted the dishwashers are dangerous and thereby accepted liability.

Regards,
BElectric

My paslode im35o will not fire at all. With new gas and

Before you send it to a repair shop you should try and adjust the front nailing regulator sometimes it gets moved back all you have to do is loosen the allen wrench screw that holds it in place it is located in the top front of gun and try sliding it forward a little bit because if it is back too far then it will not fire. Try this before spending any money on repairs.

03 winstar won't start, shakes ,back fires, fires 3times dies.

More than one issue, maybe? Also consider other experts' solutions.

First, it sounds like the EGR valve is sticking open. The exhaust valve is supposed to be closed when idling, otherwise open. It recirculates exhaust back into the manifold; can't idle car very well when the valve is open, but should not cause backfire.

Backfire, is generally an ignition timing issue: the ECM (electronic control module) is responsible for that. Check it / replace it.

Worst case: small break in one of the head gaskets (not likely, but symptom is the same).

Vacuum leak, too???

Hope this gets you pointed in the right direction!
