You'll need the PIN number.
If you don't know it, you'll have to change it to a 5 digit PIN number you select.

With the fob present, turn IGN switch:
IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION
Press LEFT turn signal switch 3 TIMES
Press RIGHT turn signal switch 1 TIME and release
Turn signals will flash 3 times. Current PIN will appear in odometer. The first digit will be flashing.

If changing PIN, enter first digit (a) of new PIN by pressing LEFT signal switch (a) time(s) i.e., for the number 1, press one time. for the number 5, press 5 times.

Press RIGHT signal switch 1 TIME and release.
the new digit (a) will replace the current in odometer window.

Enter second digit (b) with LEFT signal switch.

Repeat until PIN is set.

Once PIN is set (either new or old PIN), to disarm security system, DO NOT sit on seat, lift bike off kick stand, or anything else that will activate the security mode!

Turn IGN to IGNITION.

Quickly (within 2 seconds) hold BOTH turn signal switches until confirmation signal (KEY icon flashes at fast rate, in odometer window, a flashing "-" will be followed by 4 more dashes = "----")

Enter 1st digit (a) in PIN by pressing LEFT turn signal switch (a) times (i.e., 5 times for the number 5)
The 1st "-" will become the 1st digit (i.e., "5")

Press RIGHT switch signal 1 TIME.
The 1st digit is stored and the dash will flash.

Enter 2nd digit (b), and repeat sequence until done.

After the 5th digit is entered, the KEY icon stops blinking, and the system is disarmed.

The system will stay off until the IGN switch is turned off.

If at any time during disarming sequence an error is made, wait 2 minutes before trying again.

You CANNOT disarm the alarm without a PIN. One option is to buy a new key fob and set up the alarm using the new fob. Second, there is a chance the fob has fallen out of synchronization with the alarm by being accidentally pressed repeatedly in your pocket. You can try resetting it by HOLDING THE BUTTON DOWN FOR 15 SECONDS until the alarm responds with 2 turn signal flashes. After confirmation(flashes), you can resume normal alarm operation. Use your manual and set the alarm up WITH A PIN, so if your fob croaks again you can arm/disarm the alarm.Harley alarms are good, but notoriously hard to set up and troubleshoot!!!

How do you work 2006 street glide push button key fob

1 long push on the remote turns it on and 2 quick clicks turn it off.
Disarming function may require practice. The key fob button must be pressed twice within 1.5 seconds to send the disarm command. The action is very similar to double-clicking a computer mouse. Light quick taps work best; very hard or very slow taps are less likely to work. The key fob sends a RF signal to activate all remote TSSM functions. The left front turn signal switch wire serves as the vehicle's antenna. If the TSSM does not respond (no confirmation at arming/disarming system) or responds weakly (limited range, won't consistently arm/disarm or synchronize),

Verify key fob battery voltage is at least 2.9 volts. Replace the key fob battery every 2 years.

Interference from physical surroundings may affect RF transmission. Place the fob next to left hand grip and disarm with two clicks or move the motorcycle to a new location and try again.

Check for damage to antenna wire. Does left turn signal work?

After a battery disconnect, the TSSM will not enter the configuration mode on the first attempt. All attempts to assign a fob or enter the configuration mode will require at least two attempts.

The TSSM system uses batteries in the key fob and siren. These are the only parts requiring periodic maintenance.

Battery Replacement
Open the key fob case, place a thin blade between the 2 halves of the case, slowly twist the blade remove and replace battery positive + side down, use a Panasonic 2032 or equivalent, align the case and circuit board, snap the case halves together, while standing next to the motorcycle, press and hold the key fob button for 10 to15 seconds until the security system responds with two turn signal flashes/siren chirps.

2007 Harley-Davidson Smart Security System Dealer Quick Start Guide
The new Harley-Davidson Smart Security System (H-DSSS) provides a transparent security
blanket for the customer's motorcycle. The design allows for self-arming and self-disarming
automatically and provides a transparent security environment.
Operation
The system arms itself within 5 seconds after the ignition is turned off and no vehicle
movement is detected. The Hands Free Fob does not need to be present to self-arm.
The alarm is activated if the system detects motion or if the ignition is turned on and the fob is
not present. The system can not detect whether the fob is in range at any other time.
Because the system is not communicating with the fob all the time, current draw is lower
(.7ma), and battery life is extended.
When the fob is present the system will disarm after motion is detected or the ignition is
turned on. The Personal Identification Number (PIN) may also be used to disarm the system.
The Smart security system will change the way the dealership interfaces with the vehicle.
The H-DSSS Impacts:
• Set-Up and Pre-Delivery process
• Service writers
• Transportation of motorcycle
• Servicing of motorcycle
• Customer expectations
Set-Up and Pre-Delivery Process
During Set-Up, the technician will need to use Digital Technician to assign the Hands Free
Fobs. The new bar code reader should be used to enter the 24 character number from the
bar code on the fob. Once assigned, the fobs should be tested immediately using Digital
Technician. The fobs have to be assigned and the PIN must be assigned to enable the
system. It doesn't matter what order this is done in. Since the system is self-arming, it is
absolutely important that the customer has the PIN and knows what to do (keep card) in the
event that the fob is lost or misplaced.
Tech Tip: Save the sheet that is attached to the carton when vehicle is uncrated and scan in
the bar code to fill in the VIN when starting the process with Digital Technician.

Service Writer - 2 choices
• Fob stays with vehicle
• System gets put into service mode
When vehicle comes in for service, make sure the keys and fob stay with the vehicle. For
vehicles that do not require the key to turn on the ignition, tie-wrap the fob to the mirror to
keep it with the vehicle. Another option is to use Digital Technician to put the system in
service mode. Once the system is put in service mode, the security system will be disabled
until the fob comes back into range and the ignition is cycled off\on\off.
Transportation of motorcycle (shipping)
If the vehicle is moved with the fob in range, the system will arm and disarm continuously. If
this is done for an extended period (shipping the vehicle) the battery may become
discharged. To move the motorcycle, without the system constantly arming/disarming, place
the vehicle in transport mode. This is done by placing the run/stop switch to stop, placing the
ignition switch in accessory mode, pressing both turn signal switches at the same time, and
placing the ignition switch to off. The turn signals will flash to provide a confirmation. Now the
system has motion detection disabled for one key cycle. The vehicle can be moved without
the alarm being activated. The alarm may still be activated if the ignition is turned on and the
fob is not present. This is useful for trailering or shipping the vehicle. The customer may also
use transportation mode for loading or washing the vehicle.
Servicing the motorcycle
The system should be disarmed when servicing the vehicle requires disconnecting the
battery, siren, or HFSM. To disconnect power, turn the ignition on with fob in range (or use
PIN) to disarm security. The Maxi-fuse can now be removed while the key is on, or within five
seconds after the key is turned off. Failure to disarm and remove maxi-fuse before
disconnecting the Smart siren will cause the siren to cycle (VERY LOUD and undesirable).
Placing the system in service mode will also allow the system to be serviced and
disconnected.

Security key on and bike wont start

First, open fob and make sure battery is making good contact and no corrosion on contacts.

Also, you might need a new fob battery.

Finally, if you know the security code, you can disable the security system.

DO NOT sit on seat, lift bike off kick stand, or anything else that will activate the security mode!

Harley security system doesn't respond to fob

If the security system on your Harley-Davidson motorcycle is not responding to the key fob, there could be a few potential causes for this issue:
  1. Weak Battery: Check the battery in your key fob. If the battery is weak or depleted, it may not transmit a strong enough signal to communicate with the security system. Replace the battery with a fresh one and try again.
  2. Fob Synchronization: In some cases, the key fob may become unsynchronized with the security system. To resynchronize the fob, you can try the following steps:
    • Turn the ignition switch to the ACC or IGN position.
    • Press and hold the security system disarm button on the left handlebar control until the turn signals flash three times.
    • Release the disarm button.
    • Press any button on the key fob within 10 seconds.
    • The turn signals should flash once to confirm synchronization.
  3. Fob Battery Contacts: Ensure that the battery contacts inside the key fob are clean and making good contact with the battery. If there is any corrosion or dirt on the contacts, gently clean them with a soft cloth or alcohol wipe.
  4. Fob Malfunction or Damage: If the key fob itself is damaged or malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced. Contact a Harley-Davidson dealership or authorized service center to obtain a new key fob and have it programmed to your motorcycle's security system.
  5. Security System Malfunction: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a malfunction with the security system itself. In this case, it is recommended to contact a Harley-Davidson dealership or authorized service center for further diagnosis and repair.
It's important to note that the exact steps or procedures may vary depending on the model and year of your Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Consult your motorcycle's owner's manual or contact a Harley-Davidson dealership for more accurate and detailed instructions tailored to your specific model.

I've charged my battery, but my bike still won't start. Also, the security light is on, but I have my key fob in my pocket.

The usual reasons the fob doesn't disarm the security system is:
1) a damaged fob
2) discharged fob battery (Panasonic 2032 or equivalent)
3)electromagnetic interference
a. verify the fob in not in a metal enclosure or within 3" of any other electronic device.
b. place the fob on the seat, start motor and return fob to pocket.
c. move the bike at least 15' from the spot of interference.
With the Fob near the bike, try disabling the security system.

Lights on the bike flash and the bike will not start, can anyone help?

If you have a factory security system with the sensors located inside the key fobs you probably need to replace your fob battery.
