Speedometer and Odometer not working

you will have to check to see if the connection is a cable or electronic sensor. If it is a cable loosen the end by the transmission and check to see if it is broken or if the end is stripped if so replace the cable. If it is a sensor you might have to change the speed sensor. good luck

Pontiac sunfire Gauges not working after Battery change

Just pull out the 10amp cluster fuse and put it back in. The cluster will pop right back up. My 2004 does it every time the battery goes dead.

Car won't shift into 3rd and 4th. If you put it in neutral then down to drive it's okay but then goes back into neutral. Did a ****** filter change and no luck.

Year, brand, model would be helpful. You sure a speedometer cable is broke? If you have a newer car most of them have speed sensor(s). If a speed sensor is not working, it could be the problem with the shifting. Please rate my answer so I get points awarded.

2001 dodge grand caravan sport speedometer not working, gear selector has all lights lit and does not change when changing gears. My husband says that is seems to be in low gear when driving. odometer, gas...

The speedometer is operated by a cable to the transmission. The gear selector is also a manual linkage. Neither are electronic. There may be something stuck underneath inferring with them directly.

1995 eclipse speedometer not working

Its either your speedometer or your speedometer cable.
If it's these you will have to either have your speedometer gauge rebuilt or buy a whole new unit because they have to be re- calibrated. And if it's your speedometer cable I would also have a mechanic fix it. The cable is cheap but the gauges you can't fix on your own. So most places rebuild them and it's around $90-180.00 to rebuild them and they have to take the whole cluster gauges out all of them in the unit and they will usually replace burned out bulbs and fix the plastic gears in the gauges these are what usually fails before the speedometer cable.
Good Luck!

Speedometer on my 95 grand am doesn't work but fuel gauge does

it may be the speedo cable some times the grease inside the cable housing dries up as fast as its turning friction builds melting the plastic a little and snap!! the cables broke.. either that or the little gear inside the tranny
