I would think about investing in a carb re-build kit.

SOURCE: my keeway wont start

Check the fuses. Is the kill switch on or shorting out? Disconnect it and then check for spark. Sidestand/centerstand should be up, Got a good battery?

I am unfamiliar with your Keeway and just trying to help. Don't give me a bad rating if I miss the mark on this one. Thanks.

No guarantees but try this. Pull the slide from the throat of the carb. Now move the clip on the jet needle down one notch. This will richen the low end mix. Two notches may be needed but do one notch at the start.

50cc Chinese scooter wont start

Engines only need three things to run.

Fuel in the correct amounts
A Spark at the right time
Compression

Check the compression. Make sure the fuel is reaching the spark plug.

You should replace the fuel also as fuel deteriorates over time.Drain the tank and replace with new fuel. Also drain the carb.as it will still have old fuel in it.

I bought my brother's 1987 Kawasaki Ninja 750R. He told me that he used to have to use booster cables to a car battery to start the bike for the first time in the spring. I've changed the spark plugs,...

Yes, drain the carbs. Also clean the air filter. Get a can of spray starting fluid to assist in getting the engine to start. Chances are the carbs are gummed up from sitting so long. You will probably end up removing the carbs for a thorough cleaning.

Hi,i`ve got a yamaha fz750 1988..and it won`t seem to run on all four cylinders..i took the air box off and while it was running put my hand over each carb one at once and found that on carb 4 it stopped...

Hi JIm,
If it stopped @ 4 tht means thts the only cylinder firing .
Remove the spark plugs, earth @ on the cylinder head, crank start and check for sparks...if its sparking tht means the coils etc. are ok.
As the spark plugs are out exam them to their conditions visit this site for more details :-
http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/diagnosis.htm

From here you would know if its carburator or probably it may need a complete tune up....carburator cleaning, float level..adjustment, valve clearance.. new plugs (gap to specs.), check air filter, replace or fit 'inline' fuel filter thn balancing of the carbs.
Hope this helps!
