Yes, battery, if weak can cause hard start, due to low rotation of the engine thus less compression build up at cranking.
You can also get the battery tested to it's ability of the cranking power via a battery tester which has volt meter and a button to test it with a load that of an eqivalent of a starter motor and the meter would show the indicator to red if weak and if ok it would show at green! hope this answer helps.

My motorcycle won't start no fuel to the motor of sets more then 10 day .why is it not getting fuel to the motor ?

pilot jets are plugged, carbs will need to be removed and jets cleaned floats could also be sticking ,not allowing fuel into the bowls cleaning carbs properly will fix it ...fuel leaves a residue that plugs jets when it evaporates

2006 STREETGLIDE, at times the bike coughs when I take off & backfires once in a while, I took it to a mechanic (they found nothing wrong)it acts like it is starving for fuel, again, only once in

There are several things that maybe at fault 1.fuel filter in tank 2.plugs 3.air filter 4.possible air leak have a good mechanic look at the bike and last try a good cleaner like sea-foam due to are gas is drunk with corn alcohol. Fran

2006 hammer turns over won,t start. new plugs good spark recent new fuelpump. been stood for a few months help..

Did you use fuel stabilzer when you stored the bike? If not your fuel is probably bad. You will have to drain the old fuel and introduce fresh fuel. Use 2 ounces of sea foam to every gallon of fuel. This will help get out any junk from the old fuel. You may get a light puff of blue smoke when starting the bike while the sea foam is onboard but this is normal.

Bike will run ,but will not idle old gas was in but was drained new gas was added with a some sea foam treatment and was run for about 30 miles but it still will not idle down

Sounds like you have a clogged jet. remove carbs and jets and clean. and DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT use sea foam. It really doesnt clean anything.

1987 corvette with 26000 mile always garage kept from birth. Start once a week always starts inless than half a crank. But after ran down road for while and shut off takes 5-7 revolutions to fire. Almost...

Thee new fuels today go bad after around 3 weeks because of the ethonol content. Put a can of Sea Foam in the gas tank see if that helps clean it out. Best bet is to drain the tank put new fuel in it with a can of Sea Foam, then give it a good long run until the tank is empty. Re fill the tank and put the correct amount of Stabil in the with the gas, this will stop the gas from turning into sugar and it works for years.
Good luck

2002 Dyna wide glide. Will not IDLE

not running for a year! You have a varnish buildup in the low end circuit of the carb. You will need to remove the carb and do a full teardown of the carb to properly rectify this problem. SOMETIMES we are able to free up the passages by putting SEA FOAM cleaner in the tank , fill her up with fresh fuel and ride through the tank and it will clear up. SEA FOAM can be purchased at an auto parts store and is sometimes very effective. 1/4 cup to full tank fuel.
