Hello,

Honda did away with Reverse Gear in 1991 dropping 40lbs of weight off the bike. The years that Reverse was available on the Gold Wing were 1988 to 1990 and there is no way to add Reverse to later years.

Regards,

Oz

Onless you have after market 'fog lights' The lights you speak of are cornering lights. They come on only when using turnsignals. Right or left and not both.

My motorcycle won't start no gas to the motor

Yes, battery, if weak can cause hard start, due to low rotation of the engine thus less compression build up at cranking. You can also get the battery tested to it's ability of the cranking power via a battery tester which has volt meter and a button to test it with a load that of an eqivalent of a starter motor and the meter would show the indicator to red if weak and if ok it would show at green! hope this answer helps.

Mine is 1992 turned into

Relatively easy: you just run a line from the rear brakes up to the front of the bike, next to the flexible connector coming from the brake handle and going to the calliper - you will need the correct connectors at both ends and another piece of flexible connector. There either install a T-connector and use the handle to activate all the brakes at once or just connect it directly to the pipe, if you want just the rear ones. In this case you will have to command the front brakes in another way - by using the pedal would be the easiest way - again you will need a new line from the pedal to the from fork and another flexible connector .
This is a job that only a custom shop should do - special equipment is needed to install the new lines and connectors.

My 1500 starts but when

Hello,

My name is mike.

Some of the gold wings have what they call is a safety switch associated with the kick stand. Now, what this means, is a lot of times they will allow you to start the bike, but if the switch has a short or not working at all, as soon as you try and put it into gear, it shuts off. To explain further is, this safety switch that is hooked into your kick stand is for safety, so that you do not acedently drive off with kick stand down and of course can cause a wreck. Even though you might have kick stand up, if switch is not working, as soon as you put it into gear it shuts down bike. Now, by you putting it on stand and only cranks but does not start can still be related to same issue. So, I would look in your manual to find this, but here is a place for you to call to get exact area this would be if your bike has one, and I assume it does, because I myself have same bike, but mine is a 1993. I just sold it, and wish I had it back, was great bike, Here is the phone number to a honda place I use that is 100% good service and will treat you right for questions relating to this.

Open 10 am to 6pm (pacific time) Beaverton Honda Phone number to service (503) 718-6620
They are open Tue through Fridays, 9am to 5pm in service..... Hope this helps , Mike

After I test rode the

I do not think that there is any damage but I suspect loose ground wire or connections somewhere which could have happened by accident when the work was done on the bike. I suggest to trace the wiring harness from the gauge first. Ground wires are connected to the bikes frame. Check also the fuses just in case there was a short.

When trying to start the lights go dim but nothing

One press the clutch and keep on trying to get the gear into neutral.
Two, check your battery charge, sounds to me it is very weak / low in charge. You can have it on trickle charge overnight to fully charge your battery and try again afterward.
Good enough?

How do i bleed hydralic

The principal reason behinde bleeding the clutch system is the same on any machine with a hydrallic system, keeping the resovoir full while pulling the lever pushes the fluid through the line to the slave cylinder, which is located on the engine-gearbox. If while bleeding the system you experiance difficulty, you could remove the slave cylinder, clamp the piston so it does not push from the cylinder while bleeding, then lift the cylinder higher than the resovoir and bleed it like. This, with a tube from the bleed nipple into a container, submerge the end of the pip,e in the fluid, then open the nipple and start pulling the lever in and out, this will push the air out allowing the fluid to follow, once all the air has been removed and only fluid is cuming out ofthe pipe, hold the lever at the in position and tighten the nipple before letting go of the lever, replace all parts Der

my suggestion is to buy a Clymer manual for your specific bike. I have a 94 GL1500and the manual goes step by step thru the procedure. Basicallly you have to remove the trunk lower cover and then undo the cable that opens the bag and then remove the bolts that hold the bag onto the brackets.

if it has been sitting for a year and a half and was running rough when you parked it, you can just about bet on a carb cleaning. you can go ahead and try to start it maybe you will get lucky. but i have yet to see a 1500 set that long and not have to clean the carbs. don't forget to replace the fuel filter and check the fuel pump.

After changing the alternator 3 or 4 times. the

Your alternator can be rebuilt with parts from honda. At this point a new one would have been the way to go. It is possible you are having a problem with the wiring harness( broken wire, bad fuse block, etc.) You may even have a problem with the contact base of your ignition switch (dirty or broken). It snaps on to the bottom of the key switch. Mine stranded me at Mount Rushmore. I was able to take it the ignition switch, put in the on position, remove the contact base, disassemble it,scrape the contacts clean , put it back together, and drive away. Hope this idea helps with the problem.
