What causes a squeaky sound from the engine of an 2000 Isuzu rodeo when engine is running?

While driving or just with the engine running there is a loud squeaky sound coming from the engine somewhere. Maybe coming from the fan belt.

It could be one of the belts. if you put a little wax or brake fluid on the belt in a couple of places and the squeak goes away then you either have a loose belt/s or the belts/s need replacing. if no change it could be the timing belt making the noise.

Have the ABS pump ECM checked (it is separate from the main ECM), try to catch it early. I bought a transmission last year. This is typical 98-02 Rodeo behavior.

2000 isuzu rodeo car will not run in drive will run in reverse

***For Automatic Transmissions ONLY*** See if the Check Transmission/Check Engine light is on. If so, the likely cause is a sensor failure. If not on, the likely cause is the failure is an internal clutch problem. Only resolution is to overhaul the transmission.

This sounds like a restricted exhaust system, may have a clogged cat-converter,i would start by checking the exhaust system, and also check the engine for loose vacuum hoses

Engine knocks 3.2 isuzu rodeo 2000 ? help

You don't say how many miles or give a service history, but, that said I would check the timing belt and tensioner. When tensioner goes bad is often is reported as a loud knock or tick. Usually most evident at low RPMs. Another low cost try is to use a can of seafoam in the oil now, run it a few miles, then change it for a high detergent, low viscousity oil and drive it a while to see if the lifters clean up. engine tick is very common, generally due to lifters oil passages getting sludged up a little for 2nd gen 3.2l's

2000 isuzu 3.2 rodeo

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle rough idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve (IAC for short), they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
