SOURCE: yz 250 2008 possible 5th gear stripped?

I doubt that any gears are stripped. Believe me you would have known it when it happened at 40mph which is where you would have to be in 5th gear. This is a bent shift fork. The actual gear is fine. The slider gear is not moving far enough to engage with 5th gear. The YZ does tend to have this problem in 5th and 1st. "Dirt rider Magazine " did a story on it. Best to let the shop do the repair as the entire motor gets torn down into about 100 parts.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!

SOURCE: how much is my yz 125 worth?

the retail value in good condition is approx $1,500. meaning it looks good, runs good, good tires, breaks, chain and sprokets. but with the extras you have and the after market up grades, i would start with a little higher price.

SOURCE: 1992 yz 250 won't start

A couple of things.1.Check the fuel oil mixture is correct. It seems rich.2.Check that the carby is not running to rich. With new reed valves etc.it may need to be set back to the original manu. specs. With older parts it may have been retuned to make it run with the old parts.(carby jetting etc.)3 make sure the fuel oil mix is using a good quality oil.It does make a world of difference.I hope this is a start to get you going.

Bike ran great all day. Turned it off but when I went to restart, no power at all. replaced ignition switch. short in system somewhere but can't locate it. Start button kind of clicking like it...

You didn't say what year or model bike you're working on. The clicking you're hearing could be a circuit breaker tripping. If it's a soft click like a turn signal flasher clicking, this is probably a circuit breaker or a relay. If it's a loud click, it may be the solenoid on your starter. Does anything else on the bike work? If not, it's probably the main circuit breaker. How about any security system that may be on the bike?

Good Luck

2003 NSR125 lights all went out on the way to work this morning & Rev counter dropped to zero and didn't move although the bike didn't shut off as soon as i turned the engine off no electrics...

you will need to find out if the battery is being charged when the motor is running.if it isnt you will have to check wiring from the charging system. There could be a problem with the regulator/rectifier unit.

Runs and starts fine but will not rev over 9,000 rpms, in neutrol or going down the road, runs great, starts great, revs good till 9,000. wont go over lke it cuts out. idles good. what is it, 98 gsxr 750...

First impression was why would anyone rev their motorcycle to 9 grand in neutral? I could see if you were in gear clutch pulled and ready for a "drag" or Race Start but in neutral?

Anyway I can't hear it so if the sound is like it hits 9k and starts popping then two things either an over rev limiter which I doubtr because the engine red lines at 13,500 OR you have a set of spark plugs breaking down under load

WE HAVE A 2007 ROAD KING. THE COMPUTER WENT OUT

I hope you are speaking of the ECM, otherwise my advice may not be of any value. First if you have any modifications to the bike such as pipes & air cleaner, etc. then your issue would be magnified. The information in your "computer" as it relates to how the bike runs is called a MAP. The map defines idle speed, desired air fuel ratio (AFR), rev limit, monitors O2 sensor information, and much, much more. So if the MAP is say for a stock bike and yours has pipes, etc. then it will run poorly. I would call the dealer that replaced the part for you and ask if they downloaded the right MAP for your bike.
Without special equipment (i.e Screamin Eagle Race Tuner SERT) you cannot make changes yourself.
Please start with the call to the dealer and please post your results for us. Thanks and hope this helps.

Can't get the revs below 3500rpm

Remove the negative battery connection and leave it disconnected for about 15 minutes. That should reset your engine management system. I would try a different battery if you have one handy, or maybe put yours on a battery charger. For the problem to appear suddenly after six weeks without running the bike my best guess is the battery is not functioning properly.

Good luck.
