Take the float bowls off the carbs hook up the fuel line and with the fuel flowing, push up on the float to where it looks level. this is where the float should be up enough to seal the needle valve from fuel getting by. if fuel is still flowing, adjust floats as necessary to cut off the flow. this should solve that problem. hope this helps...

Needle or seat damaged. Fuel in air box ? Would be wise to make sure crank case isn't filled with gas... you may not want to star it.

Suzuki ls 650

That depends are you talking about a fuel tank gauge float or a carburetor float. If you are talking about the Carburetor most kits have them with the kit. That said, the float is usually level at the time the fuel fill ping is in the full closed position.

2001 yahama v-star 650, went to start today and fuel is pouring out from the carb overflow, seems like the fuel pump wont shut off or maybe floats stuck??

It's definitel stuck floats or bad needle valves. The pump wont shut off untill it reaches pressure and it will never develop the pressure as long as the fuel is leaking out.

2002 Suzuki DR400 dual sport - My problem is I'm getting fuel into the gear box/crank case. Oil level keeps filing up with fuel - where is it coming from? Any ideas?

The problem is probably you carb. float is sticking open, you need to check the float bowl to see if it has fluid inside the float, the float may have a crack in it ,if so you will need to replace with a new one. to get to the float you have to take the lower half of the carb apart,it should only take one screw to seperate it.

I have a 1986 Suzuki ls 650, and the fuel mixture seems to be a problem.. The spark plug keeps getting fouled with only running every 100 miles.. as soon as I clean the black deposits off and reinsert...

Hi,,you have gunk in the float needle, that is why you are fouling plugs and fuel is coming out the overflow.

carb needs to be removed and cleaned.

Took 2002 V-Star Classic 650 out of storage, it

well it sounds like the float needle is not shutting fuel off whin the bowl is full of fuel you can lightly tap on the bowl of carb an that may make it stop what has happend is the bike has sat you may need to run a little fuel treatment through it or sea foam and that may clean the end of the needle off the way it works when the bowl of the carb fills with gas the float raises a needle valve into a brass seat and stops fuel flow into the carb fuel get old and starts to develop a tarnish on that nice pionty valve an then it won't stop gas the overflows just prevent to much into the motor try some fuel treatment and run it it may fix it self just from fresh gas an being driven worst case is having to clean your carbs still not to bad hope that get you fixed up

New pressure washer has started and ran for about 1.5 hours. After it ran out of Gas, refilled and now it runs for about 2 min then stops. Its the same gas that was used when it ran for 1.5 hours. Any...

New machine... there are a few of things to check.

First off re-check the engine oil level. The engine has an oil level sensor and will shut off the engine when it senses a low oil level.

Then with the FUEL SELECTOR "off" remove the fuel hose to the carb. Using a catch container check the fuel flow when the fuel selector is turned "on". It should be a very rapid rate.

If you do not have good feul flow check the filter / filter bowl for debris. If nothing is discovered and you still have poor fuel flow check the fuel tank outlet port.

FUEL FLOW to carb is good Symptom persists

FUEL SELECTOR OFF

Remove the fuel float bowl and check for debris. There is an orifice jet in the bottom of the carb assy that gets clogged. Also take a look at the bowl nut for debris and clean as necessary.

Again using a catch container turn on the fuel selector with the float exposed. Fuel should flow rapidly with the float down and stop as you GENTLY raise the float to level. If it is still slow there is debris in the float needle seat and it will have to be cleaned out.
Fuel selector OFF
Reassemble / install the float bowl and test.
Fuel selector ON
Test for proper operation
