Red warning light & EFI code will no go off?

Hi
I recently purchased a 2009 Aprilia RS125, I have done 350 miles.
The red warning light had came on along with the EFI code, I checked the oil under the seat and it was running pretty low so I filled it up with Fully Synthetic 2 stroke oil. However the red warning light and EFI code remain, should the light's have automatically went off? or is there something I need to do to the bike to get it off?
One Aprilia garage said to take the cap off were the sensors are to check the float (which I didn't feel confident doing)however I couldn't get this off:(
Does anyone have any ideas?
This is my first bike so really worried.

Thanks
Christine

    Thanks,
It is under warranty, will I have to pay much for a dealer to look at it?

Hi Christine, Have had the same problem wih my 2009 RS 125, it probably relates to the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) i is fairly common and under warranty, get aprilia to plug it in when you have first service to check. Andy

EFI stands for Electronic Fuel Injection. The light indicates a problem with the fuel system, but to find out exactly what that problem is you have to go to the dealer and have them read the codes.

If you want to do your own maintenance (and I encourage you to do as much as you can) get a service manual for the bike. If it is under warranty take it to the dealer and ask them to find out what the problem is because that light should not stay on.

You need to call the dealer and ask them but most of the time warranty repairs are free. When you call, ask to speak with the service department. Explain you have a 2009 and you think it is under warranty. Then describe the problem and ask how much they will charge to to LOOK at it. Then ask if it is covered under warranty and if not what the estimated charges will be. Often they don't know exact amounts until they look at the bike and figure out what is wrong with it, but looking at it should be free under warranty.

If you are not happy with their response you can find another dealer.

hi i have a aprilia rs125 and i ran the 2 stroke low and guess what the red triangle came on along with the efi.

when i filled up 2 stroke didnt make a difference.

after some time i found the solution takes 5 minutes to do and when i run out i get the red triangle come on this time when i fill oil up hey prestto it goes of.

i only charge 5 pound to get the enoying red triangle of to be paid in my paypal or postal order saves you expensive bill with aprilia dealer 100 per cent works if not money back gaurantee jase

Efi isnt electronic fuel injection on the rs 125. i know it normally is on most bikes but rs dosnt have fuel injection its got a carb, stands for electronic fault indicator. it is a bit confusing but its just the way they made them. check loom for damage and plugs for wear. usually throttle position sensor, temp sensor or if someone has drilled the cdi. if not any of these check all sensors and wires ive seen them come on because the fuel level sensor was unpluged when the tank was off and forgot to plug it back in. there is a sequence you can do to turn it off if you search google or bing for it
