Alex ,
the battery is not your problem . it sound more like the starter motor giving you grief or alternator or regulator .
The electronic system on these are Bosch which are very sensitive to fluctuations of power .
Now when your starter draw power it really sucks power out of your battery and hopefully you have enough for the rest of the appliances .
the hard line of all this is that the battery may look good and hold the charge for a while but once the starter motor draw power to start the bike , you have very little power left to service the rest of power needed for the electronics . Make sure the alternator give you enough charge , test it while running , it should give you between 13.5 V to 14.8 V output or see if you accelerate the bike the headlight becomes brighter . If the light stays dole or dimms while giving a bit of gas , your alternator or regulator has a problem and will have to be tested and replaced .
have a look at all this and let me know how you go

you have to check the wires going to the abs, could be a bad wire, if they are ok then either the new sensor is malfunctioning, or the abs sentral is fried

I have a 1998 BMW r1100rt, my horn would not work and while messing with the system, I developed the following problem. My flashers and turn signels will not work, the turn signels on the left side will come on when I turn the key on but won't go off unless I pull the fuse. I need help, 165 miles to the shop. Thanks
