Is it a plug or a breather cap , it could be vent tube for your gas tank , to release pressure build up.

SOURCE: gas problems

I just cleaned my float bowl. Make sure to check your float measurements and the gasket on the bowl too. The gasket is a couple dollars depending how or where you order them. If the screws are stiff use PB Blaster to loosen them up with some tapping from a hammer with a screwdriver.

Where gas line goes to carborator

It will run from the fuel tank to the carb - if you have a tap just follow that hose down to the carb thats the fuel line

Where does the small tube from bottom of float bowl go

First, where does it come from. It is the overflow for the carb. Comes from a tube inside the carb. Where it goes; basically out the bottom of the bike. It does not connect to anything. just routes down the frame and out the bottom of the bike. It allows any overflow fuel to not get all over your bike.

Yamaha roadstar 1600

One line that comes from the top LH side of carb (looking at carb w/o air cleaner) is a carb vent aprox 1/4 " hose. It connects only to the carb & hangs in a wire bracket as a vent tube. The 1/2 " vent line that goes from the valve cover on the rear cylinder goes to the spigot on the air cleaner case & vents the crankcase gases back into the intake of the carb to be burnt. Those are the only 2 lines other than the fuel line that comes from the metal pipe that crosses over to the fuel pump on the other side of bike. That fuel line connects to the carb metal fuel spigot on the side of the carb. That's fuel into carb.

2002 suzuki savage wont stay running and it only has 9770 miles on it

we have this problem too. Trued cleaning the whole fuel system, changing the carb & plugs. Some one told us that the coil is bad or the key ignition needs replacing as too many keys hanging when driving is bad. I sold it but the new owner is stumped too. It may be a common problem but who knows??? Best of Luck!

It is a suzuki savage 1997 or 98. took the carb off cleaned it and put it back on, now i was wondering if there is a website with pictures explaining why 2 of the tubes of the carb dont go anywere, now i...

Hi, just looking at my 88 Savage, it looks like there are 2 float bowl vents--one on each side. I can see the passages from outside the carb going down from the ports to the float bowl. One hose routes down and the other up under the tank. There is also a vacuum line to the fuel valve to shut the valve off when the engine is off. That port is on the lower right side of the carb, and the hose wraps around to the valve on the other side. If you have a california bike, there is also supposed to be an EVAP hose from the carb to the fuel tank. I don't know where you can get pictures online, but I have a manual for the 86-88 Savage.

My husband just got a suzuki savage and had to take carburator apart there is 2 hoses that he cant find where they go please help!!

If they are small tubes , the one on the side is probably just a float bowl vent and goes to the front of the rear wheel. The one on the bottom of the carburetor bowl is the drain hose for the bowl and goes to the front of the rear wheel. The vent and drain line just hang in front of the rear wheel and do not connect to anything.
It is possible that one of the lines is a vacuum line and does actually have to plug into a vacuum fuel petcock. If this is the case the fuel will not flow to the carburetor unless the line is hooked up. Hope this helps.

Tube hanging from bottem of bike

Most likely a drain tube for either battery, or most likely the drain for any spilled fuel when filling the tank. If you overfill the tank the excess fuel should be directed beneath the bike by a drain hose connected to the filler spout.

1986 Suzuki Savage loosing acceleration

I have been having a simular problem with my girlfriends bike. She complained about the bike looseing power or "bucking " as she calls it , at speed.Several "shops" have played around with it ,but none have solved the problem .She feels the bike is not worth spending any more money on ,so I have tackled it .
The first thing I found was that someone had put the wrong hose on the pet ****. To open the pet **** you need vaccum from the cylinder side of the carb. There are two other hose nipples on the filter side of the carb that I don't know where they go .If you know , please tell me .The vaccum helped but didn't solve the problem. So I took the carb apart , cleaned out all the jets . One was pluged.
Now I have to run the bike a little, then check the spark plug. I think I am getting close.

I neede to add oil to my Suzuki savage 650

If your Savage is the same as my old 1988 Savage, you probably checked the oil level in the sight glass on the side of the engine case. Make sure the bike is standing straight up when you check it. It is easiest to have someone else hold the bike while you bend over to check the level. If I remember correctly, the fill port should be on the upper side of the crankcase about 8 inches away. If it is not there, check the opposite side of the engine. I really miss my Savage, but after 13 years riding without having an accident, I figured I was living on borrowed time considering how blind the drivers around here are.
