My mule has had 3 regulators and runs ok when battery is low. when its full the engine cuts out when increasing revs above idle. i'm sure its overcharging. when running the coils are recieviving 18 to 19 volts!!! ive fitted genuine kawasaki regulators. i had to remove the buzzer that used to sound every time it was cutting out.

Running well at high revs would indicate that all the fuel and air it needs are getting to the engine and you also have a good spark. Probably no problem with air and fuel filter ( if fitted) or sparkplugs.

Running hot, and bad idling are signs of a lean air fuel mixture. The engine is probably not getting enough fuel at low revs.

This could be caused by an air leak between the carburettors and the engine. Check that the vacuum line to the fuel tap is properly secured at both ends. It is behind the fuel line at the tap.

Get a a short length of hollow plastic tube and use it like a stethascope - put one end to your ear and move the other end around your carburettor mounts with your engine revs as low as you can get, and listen for any sucking noises that would indicate a leak. Look for cracks in the rubber inlets.

The other possibility is that there is an internal blockage in the idling jets or idling fuel circuit. This is where dirt tends to lodge because the jet dimensions and passageways are very fine - The high speed jets are much bigger and dirt often just passes straight through.

Try a little bit of choke while the engine is warm to see if you get a stronger low speed response. If so that would point to an internal blockage.

SOURCE: Kawasaki Ninja 250 running problem

This could be due to timing screw being incorrectly set
Locate gold timing screw on the carbrettta turn it clockwise only slightly till bike idles without choke on, Then when choke it on it should idle a touch higher.

How to add push button start switch on 2005 Kawasaki mule instead of the key switch

To add a push button start switch on a 2005 Kawasaki Mule instead of the key switch, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Remove the key switch from the dashboard of the Mule. This can be done by unscrewing the retaining nut on the back of the switch and pulling it out of the dashboard.

2. Locate the wires that are connected to the back of the key switch. There should be three wires: one red wire, one black wire, and one green wire.

3. Cut the red and black wires, leaving enough length on each end to connect them to the push button switch.

4. Connect one end of the red wire to one terminal on the push button switch, and connect one end of the black wire to the other terminal on the push button switch.

5. Connect the green wire to a ground point on the Mule's chassis. This will typically be a bolt or screw that is connected directly to metal.

6. Test the push button switch by pressing it while turning on the ignition. If everything is wired correctly, the Mule should start up without any issues.

It's important to note that this modification may not be legal in all areas, so be sure to check your local laws before making any changes to your vehicle's ignition system.

My Kawasaki Mule 610 XC runs good but won't build up enough RPMs to charge the battery. While you're driving it has no power past about half throttle. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Check for a fuel obstruction, sounds like urs starving for fuel, test or check your lines, fuel pump, any valves, etc are free and clear. I hope this helps!

2010 Kawasaki 610 mule has no power when key is on and battery is good? There is 12 volts at the starter but nothing happens when you turn on the key switch.

Kawasaki mule 610 new battery but little to no power to solenoid. Fully charged starter makes rapid clicking noise. When attacked to battery jump starter it will start. Mule was running excellent for 2 weeks with new battery. I was told by kawasaki technician it was ignition. Nope thoroughly skimmed inspected wires and see nothing wrong. Technician told me different second time, it's now the starter replaced starter ($450) and still no results I'm at a loss

Kawasaki Mule 1999 Model

Hello Anon..
First, I would check to make sure the carbs are getting fuel, and then fuel getting into the cylinders. Your question about low oil - did you let it get low and then it quit? ...
If you put oil into the cylinders and only got 100psi, this might be your problem. You should be pumping around 120+psi without putting anything into the cylinders... Recheck the compression.= .take out all spark plugs...screw the gauge in until the o-ring seats, hold the throttle wide open while spinning the engine over for about 5 seconds... you should get 120psi +/- 10psi.
If you are getting less than 100psi.. it might be time for a rebuild..
