My bet it is a scheduled maintance light. Check all the fluids check your manual on how to reset warning lights . if you have no manual ask a dealer how this may be reset.

It could be brake linings, ABS or anything to do with engine management. If you do not service the bike yourself, I would get it booked in for a service at your local BMW dealership. They usually lend a bike if you need one. Hope that helps.
If it goes out when the engine is running there is no problem.On some models the warning light comes on during start up so you know it works,my car and bike does this to.
If you have a sunroof, your drains might be clogged. Open the front doors and look for a rubber spout pointing down at a 45* angle. Milk it a littleand water might come out. I cut mine to open it up a bit so this wouldn"t happen again.
Red warning light?? With the car cold fill the coolant res. so the level is in between the min and max lines.

It's normal for the check engine light to take from 0 to a couple seconds to turn off. The computer runs a system check. Put an oil pressure gauge on the bike and watch it closely. If your pressure drops when the bike loses power, the engine may be locking up from lack of oil. Another possibility is your lean-angle cut-off switch is defective. The switch cuts power to the bike in case you lay it down. Harley also has had problems with their fuel injection system losing power for no apparent reason.
On most vehicles, a red warning light indicates need for immediate attention. One area that this light would indicate would be oil level and/or oil pressure. On most bikes, the red light would show when IGN is first switched on telling the rider that the oil is not pumping. Once the engine has started this should go out indicating that the oil is circulating. In other bikes, the red indicator could represent the level of a 2T oil. In such instances, if it comes on with just switching on the IGN, then this indicates that there is little or no 2T oil in the reservoir. So this would be really be dependent on the make & model, whether a 4 stroke or a 2 stroke. Note: running a 2 stroke engine with little or no 2T oil in the fuel mix would result to burned pistons, rings and an overheated engine.
