  1. Recomended sparkplug (NGK CR8E),medium heatrange plug will operate well in a wide range of engine speeds.
  2. If bike is driven in hot climates,and engine works hard - A spark plug with a colder heat range is recomended.
  3. Bike used in cold climates and engine does not work hard use a spark plug with a higher heat range.

Have a look in the owners manual or i a workshop manual and somewere in there it will tell u the best plugs that should be put in the bike. if it continues in my experiences burnt out plugs means the engine is running to hot which means it is iver fuelling. if this is the case try turning the mixture screw down half a turn

    Just had it delivered from a dealer 165 miles away in Ebensburg, PA. Manual and extra key supposed to be on it's way. It appears the last owner used it heavily as a dirt bike and the dealer did little more than wave a rag over it. I'm not new to tearing down bikes, mostly Triumph and Bultaco back in the 70's. Had no problem figuring out where the filters and all were located, draining oil and removing rusty chain and drive gear and pulling oall the grass and red mud out of the drive . Figured I couldn't necessarily trust what plugs were in it and don't have the in the mail manual yet. I had NGK C6HSA plugs in it.

Spark plugs foul immediately
Fouled plugs may be caused by oil leaking into the cylinder. Does it smoke when running (cold), are you using up the crank oil. Black smoke is excess gas comsumption, blue smoke is oil burning. If your plug is fouled with black carbon, you are most likely running to rich.

Spark plugs problems
if they come out black and powdery there is too much fuel.. if they come out sooty its burning oil.. you can increase the gap up to double and it should still fite.. may need a different styl plug like a split fire or airplane engine plug..they make different types but be careful in selecting becaue too hot of fire will burn out valves and possibly blow gaskets..

This is the problem its running on propane which will burn the plugs out quicker than petrol you could try a hotter grade of spark plug though or them bosch one with the three electrodes but in all honesty on propane gas they will burn

Keeps burning spark plugs and wont stay running
First, check you are using the correct plug, if you are using one that is too "Cold" it will burn out and cause running problems. If the plug is too "Hot" it can cause holing of the piston and erratic running. It could also be a mixture problem (fuel/oil) but try the plug first.

The plugs keep fouling. I have tried several different types of plugs as well as diffent gas. With new plugs runs fine for around 15 mins.What else can I do? It has a Kawasaki 23.0 engine.

try to shorten the gap this will make the plug run a little hotter and also u may want to have the settings on the carburator reset
