SOURCE: Removal of factory seat on Yamaha Royal star 1300

Hi, It opens with your key on the right side as looking from the front of the bike. Keep the key turned and pull straight up on the back of the seat. There is a tab on the front right behind the tank, so when you are putting it back make sure that tab goes into the slot first. Wow, when you get the seat off you will also find your emergency tool bag! I have royal star tour classic #41. Good Luck!

SOURCE: How can I remove the rear seat of a Yamaha Virago

The rear seat is held in place with a single bolt near the rear of the seat. This bolt is normally a socket head type (you use an allen key to remove it), is near the centre of the rear fender and also usually holds the rear rack or grab bar in place. Once the bolt is removed you may need to shift the rear of the seat sideways one way or the other in order that the tab on the seat clears the grab bar or luggage rack. The front end of the rear seat is secured under a tab so after removing the single bolt, simply slide the seat toward the back of the bike and it will come free.

How to remove the seat of 1999 v star 1100

Hello
1)Engage the kickstand and ensure the Yamaha is securely standing. Examine the front part of the seat, closest to the speedometer. You'll find a bolt.
2)Remove the front bolt with a 10-mm socket wrench. This unhooks the front part of the seat assembly. Move to the rear part of the seat.
3)Examine the rear part of the seat to find the 5-mm Allen bolt. Remove it with the Allen wrench.
4)Grasp each side of the seat and simultaneously lift it upward and backward to remove it from the Yamaha 1100.
I hope it helps. Don't forget to rate.
Thanks
