The bike won't go into neutral. It can still be ridden, but the only way to get it into neutral is to turn it off and let it cool down. When in first gear, with the clutch completely in, the bike will start moving. I took it to the BMW dealer's yesterday and after opening the clutch they couldn't find the problem. The only solution they came up with is to replace the whole clutch system. The teeth are perfect, it's well lubricated and everything seems to be in place. The costs for replacing the clutch are insane? Has anyone encountered this problem? How did you solve it?

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. FOUND THAT THE CLOCK WAS NOT WORKING CORRECKLY AND WAS DRAWING TOO MUCH POWER.

check the level of the clutch fluid in your resevoir, maybe a slow leak that is allowing the chutch to release. When was the last time the fluid was changed?

It's a problem thats common in the Adventures and I think it has to do with the driveshaft set up. I generally let clutch out slighty when kicking it down to 1st and that does the trick. I dont think there's anything mechanically wrong, just one of those glitches in the design.

It is the dogs on the gears themselves that are worn. Only solution is to replace them, which means an engine strip or full replacement with another engine from a salvage shop.
