Changing rear tire.Need instructions for
You should not have to unbolt the final drive assembly. Loosen the rear axle nut, take out the bolt, knock out
the spacer , lift the caliper assembly out of the way and hang it by a wire, grab the wheel, and slide it sideways away
from the final drive. The wheel should slide right off the spline of the
final drive and roll out the back under the fender. If the wheel wont
slide past the final drive let the air out of the tire. Be sure to coat
the spline of the final drive with moly60 paste available at your local Honda dealer when reassembling.
I am trying to replace
If you are just replacing the grips, you may not need to touch the cables, the right grip fits over a plastic throttle sleeve, you generally just cut the old one off
Just installed a new starter,
Check your alignment of starter, as it may need to be shimmed one way or the other in order for starter drive to align properly to allow it to extend fully and mesh properly with ring gear teeth. It doesn't take much for drive to be out and not fully extend .
The starter turns but not
The one way clutch in the motor grabs a gear with a smooth cylinder sticking out of the side of it. The smooth surface of the gear is now chattered and the one way clutch will not grab it. You will have to replace the large gear and possibly the one way clutch.
My 98 set up for
Check your intake manifolds for air leaks . You may have a cracked manifold or you may have to replace the sealing o-ring.

2005 Yamaha v star 650 losing power
What Exactly does the bike do when it 'loses power'? This will give clues as to where the issue could be. When was the last time the bike was given a major service? Sometimes it can be as simple as a dirty fuel/air filter or an old/worn or dirty spark plug.
