Engine cutting out when open throttle. YAMAHA NEOS 50cc MOPED

i had a simuler problem with my honda cr 250 moto-x bike it would start fine and you could keep it ticking over with the throttle(i have deliberatly unscrewed the tickover in case i come off,it will cut out) when i got on it,it would go for about 400-500 metres then splutter and die and not start again for around 5 mins. i immediatly knew it was a fueling problem. so after stripping the carb and giving it a good clean out i was baffled when i got back on and it still done the same. i then dismantled the fuel tap cleaned it all out and put it back together and tested it,it was very very slow so i unsrewed my fuel cap a little and was greated with the familur gush it should deliver. problem solved! the vent in my fuel cap had crystalised up,so the fuel was coming out but the air was not getting in,causing a vacuum and slowing down the flow and basically emptying the carb quicker than it can fill back up!!! clean your carb, fuel tap and any vents in your cap or tank. if this does not work then your bike must be over fueling or low on compression.

Onlyfires on front cylyder. spark on back one,

sounds like fuel issue to me. You stated you have spark on both cylinders. If this started after someone worked on it then you need to bring it back. Only they know what they may of left off or did halfass

I have a yamaha neos 50cc i havent used it for a

If you haven't used it for a year, I'd drain the gas and replace with fresh. Also since you found some dirt in the jet, I'd throughly clean the entire fuel delivery system, from the tank to the carb,,inline filter replace etc. Take the carb apart and soak in carb cleaner, then blow out, blow jets as well, and it wouldn't hurt to replace the needle valve seat. Next, make sure you are getting good spark. If you have the proper fuel/air mix and spark properly timed, your engine should start right up! Good Luck, Hope this helps!

Sidestand springs coming off when operated

Spring may need replacing. It could be tired after years of faithful duty. Be sure that the side stand and spring are actually made for your bike, if not, the tension and length will be off.

Happy riding...

Hi,

I had the same problem with mine. Its a dodgy ignition coil i found a spray of wd40 on it would fix it for a while by driving out the moisture. I've since put a piece of plastic bag around it which helps alot. Should really give in and buy a new coil though

83 virago 750 under 3500 rpm runs bad. over 3500 runs good

hi,says here you had the carbs redone,it sounds to me like the carbs were not rebalanced after installation,if you do any work at all ocn carbs it is quite important that the carbs be properly rebalanced,it only takes very minor adjustments inside carbs(even a scratch on a jet)or different torque settings on screws etc will trow the balance out,if you get this done i think your problem will disappear..hope this helps
