It seems that the clutch is not releasing, either the oil has not fed through to the friction surfaces or the cable needs to be pulled up a bit to depress the release mechanism and give more space between the plates when the lever is pulled in. (With the bike in gear and the clutch pulled in, can you push the bike without the engine trying to turn over).

Check harness connectors to rear signals...should be under the seat on top of fender on most bikes...may be affecting flasher load so it doesn't cycle properly.
Also check the flasher relay itself for a loose or dirty connector.

if solinoid is proper one.check all coloured connecters are correct also check for powderd deposites in the sockets where the globes are fitted into as that makes a bad earth.also check in headlight where all connecters are usely placed for the handle bar switch.also hold globes to light and look at the elements in the glass.i myself have bought new ones witch damaged due to miss handling by rough handlers behind the counter.i have had bikes that where harness exits h/bar switch have been squashed as well.generally the indicater loom is seperate to main system but all taped together.with a diagram to follow you can sperate from the main taped harnness.your beeper should be in chrome dome on left like th air box.the indicater system is simple one.goodluck

if you havent altered the tounge on the float for amount of fuel in bowl i,d be looking at the air vent.if all good check the fuel cap vent .obviously not enough fuel to go distance or cant breath .are all hose on correct fittings?

The heat is probably due to corrosion...there is resistance to the current flow so it heats up....if you see corrosion on the holder you might try a spray contact cleaner or gently scrape with a knife blade.

check to make sure your kill switch is working properly,, also check to see if the main fuse is good and not blown.

seems like a bad earth, check battery connectors, and any earth straps between engine and frame and also the connectors from each of the indicator wiring into the harness.
