I have seen this happen due to air locks in fuel pipes where they are routed too close to hot surfaces. Most baffles can be un-screwed from the rear; some others from the inside after removing the exhaust.

You dont ... Several things for your consideration.You should be able to ride for about 100 miles on a full tank. Fill up every 100 miles. There should be a three way valve on your tank; OFF - ON - RESERVE. NEVER set this to RESERVE unless you miss the 100 mile fill up. Otherwise, you will be walking.You may be able to go 150 miles on a tank ... DONT DO IT. @ 90 miles, start looking for a station where you can fill up. Your pututti will also thank you.

You have to replace your battery. Its no longer charging to the right level.

sounds like your clutch needs to be adjusted or replaced

at idle,not moving,which is when bikes like to overheat, most bikes will mis-fire, idle ruffly and even black smoke.putting on open pipes and not re-jetting the carbs will cause it to overheat

triumph is aware of the problem and dealers are to perform an adaptation on it under warranty if the customer complains. if adaptation is not done correctly it will not take. they have to plug it in with the activa (triumph) tool, check for faults, ideally reset the tps and ics stepper renew before doing the adaptation. which is basically....resetting the fuel map in the ecu at which the bike is allowed to idle for ten minutes Without touching the throttle so that the ecu can reference optimal running conditions allowing steady throttle and ease of start up. known as power down.

there should be a compliance plate on the down tube of the frame just below the steering neck

110 degrees is not running hot.

Well if nothing is working I would think it was the ground wire from the battery to the body. Because the horn and lights don't need the ignition switch on to work. Remember when jump starting a car you always hook the ground cable of the dead battery to the body of the car and not the negative side of the battery. Because if the ground wire isnt correctly connected from your body car frame to the battery it could blow up in your face. So remember that if your trying to jump start the car.My guess without looking at it is ground related... Hope this helps

Hi..early rockets had problem with wiring chafing and breaking in the loom where it goes from left side of frame in front of fuel tank..mine did this...pita

make sure batt is charged to 12.6volts-if not then weak spark--it cud be old an worn too--or alternator needs service--chec connections for corrosion----inspect fuel delivery from tank to carb----may want to test compression-mite b weak
