2001 Honda GL 1800 Gold Wing Questions & Answers
95 honda gold wing 1500 over heating
oh dear
this could be a number of things
from a leaking radiator or a leaking inlet manifold to warped heads or at the worst cracked cylinder liners
check the colour of the oil to start with
if it is a grey sludge texture then you have water mixing with your oil
as a matter of urgency
you need to have this looked at in a workshop for full diagnosis
a full compression test would diagnose a warped head or a cracked cylinder liner
get them to also check the cooling system for a blockage
No sound through headset
Verify that the headphones are good on another device. If that is not the case then pull the radio and check that all connections are good. If the jack is the only thing not working then it is not the fuse.
Running on three cylinders
Hello rayetcaro...Are you sure it's a 'flooding' problem? Can you smell excessive gas fumes from the exhaust...are the plugs 'wet'?
The 01 wing has a high-tech computer controlled fuel injection system... this new electronic CPU provides two digital 3-D fuel injection maps for each cylinder and one digital 3-D ignition map for each cylinder, creating ideal fuel mixture<per Honda> You possibly could have excessive fuel pressure...It's difficult to troubleshoot...This motorcycle is so incredibly electrically inter-connected that even a "single-wire"
schematic trouble-shooting analysis is just not practical (as I painfully learned). There are so many ways for a passively-active circuit to "short" and send erroneous voltage “back
feeding” through numerous circuits and relays
I suggest you have a diagnostic test run, because if 3 cylinders are not firing it won't take long for your oil to breakdown.
Good Luck...i hope this helps.
Starter switch
do not use wd40. There is electric contact cleaner. This is also in a spray pressure can. Try that. You might just be ready for a new switch also.
You can try Walmart for a good price. google it for price check.
I own a 2007 Goldwing with approx. 8000 miles on
Hello,
Did you replace the battery or charge it back to capacity?
If your battery is not at full charge or isn't supplying the correct amps to the electrical system, every time you key your CB it will drop the voltage and other electrical components will stop working - or not work properly.
Make sure that your battery is fully charged and the electrolytes are at the proper levels.
If you put a new battery in your Gold Wing, did you buy the correct battery? A cheaper battery will most like cause problems with the electrical system.
If you find this information useful, please vote on this post. Thank You.
