My 2001 Honda Magna vf750 is getting harder to get into neutral, why?

I dont want to Panic you...May be the 'Selector Fork'? Otherwise, try changing Oil (if due/overdue). If chain drive, is it adjusted correctly? (can cause issue from slack) Letme know how you get on. Cheers n Happy Trails. In the meantime - YouTube/CrashTestDummyTV >:)

My buddy bought a 2001

Mine does that too, every spring when I take it out of hibernation. A swig of Ring-Free (follow the bottle's instruction) will fix it every time. Mine has doe it every year and I have no issue all year long after the treatment. Re-seals the gasket and un-sticks the float.
You can find it at any bike shop a/o dealer or online.
Good luck! Mike 4bikergear
