Looking for diagnostic help, 2009 R1200RT stalls while driving and in idle immediately after starting. Brand new battery, new clutch. Feels and sounds a little rougher than usual.

if I leave light (heads/) for 30minutes, (engine running or not)>??????
if engine not running, that is NORMAL
if engine is running that is AbNORMAL and Alt/Gen is dead or fuse blown..
no you have 2 problems?, GEN dead and injection issues.
the cold start fails for these reasons of vast.
1: bad fuel, filters clogged.
2:injectors partially clogged from #1
3: spark weak , plugs bad.
4: or starting it with a DEAD Gen that caused battery to be weak.
but weak batteries do not crank or crank slow. so.... or does barely and now spark is weak with 11v battery weak?
TBO, fix bad gen first so it says running and not flat line the poor battery. I guess you have battery charger and using it to hide the bad GEN sure.
in all cases for sure this , check all fuse for sure all related to GEN.
Map sensor location
ABS sensors are at the wheels - the look at a notched ring and take their impulses from that ring. Find the ring and you'll find the sensor (near the caliper)
R1200rt can't start
If the motor swings over, the cause is most likely the fuel pump regulator. BMW Part number is 16 14 7 720 776

Hi Owen,Does the bike not start at all? You mentioned shifting to 2nd- does it still not fire if in neutral? A common problem is the side stand switch but this shouldn't be a problem when in neutral. When you turn on your ignition, do you hear your fuel pump prime as per normal or is it silent?I would also suggest checking for spark at a plug. This way around you would know if the problem is fuel or spark related. Also take a test light and check the wiring to the injectors. If you pull off a connector, you should have power with ignition on and a negative pulse when cranking on the other terminal. If you have fuel pressure from your pump then with power and pulse you should have the system fueling.Fuel, Spark and air- must run!! Give me some feedback with your results and hopefully I can guide you in the right direction. Good luck!
