My r1200rt is draining my battery with the key off

Either the battery is bad or something is switched on.( grip heaters, radio, alarm????)
An ammeter in line with the battery cable can show if there is a current draw,
Batteries can sometimes only last 12months if the bike is only used occasionally.
Volt meter across the battery terminals will show if it is charging, it should rise to aprox 14v with the engine running
