Is your security light flashing? If so, your onboard security system has disabled the starter. The security system can be reset (providing you are using the ORIGINAL key for the car) you may have to hook up a battery charger to accomplish this. First hook up the battery charger then when you get in the car, set the parking brake before turning the ignition on. This will keep the daytime running lights from coming on. Then turn the key to the RUN position and wait for the security light to stop flashing. (This takes about 10 minutes.) Then, without turning the key off, turn the key to the START position. The engine should start.

If this doen't work, you will probably have to wait until your wife gets home so you can reset the security system by using the remote to lock the unlock the doors.

I would also recommend investing in a second remote and key so you don't have this problem in the future. The second key and remote is pretty easy to progrm on your vehicle. This can be done either by the dealer or most aftermarket repair shops. You MAY even want to try to do it yourself. Instructions for programming additional keys and remotes are located in your Owner's Manual.

How do I program a new key fob into my Chevrolet HHR LT

Turn the key "ON" "OFF" "ON" "OFF" "ON" "OFF" "ON" and leave in the "ON" position. Press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote until the doors lock and unlock. Turn the key "OFF" and your remote should be programmed. If this doesn't work, you might have to take your vehicle into the dealership.

Manually oped door lock on2004 deville from open window now won't srart with out waiting a couple minutes

You triggered the security system on this model, which is notoriously sensitive, and the security shut down the ignition. Don't push your luck, use the key fob to unlock or you may wind up with a locked down and inoperable Cadillac.

Sliding door will not lock or unlock with remote key or front door panels

I have the same van and the passenger side sliding door stopped locking by the remote or the electrical switch. I took the door panel off for the sliding door and located the door lock solenoid( the locking solenoid was bad). but it was sOOOOOO dificult to remove the door lock solenoid ( and I thought I had every tool) that I had no choice but to put it all back together and tell the wife she needed to take it to the dealership to fix it. I forget how much the part was but the dealer part was suprisingly more expensive than I thought it would be.

The ABS light and Trac off light is on, what's wrong?

There are sensors mounted behind the front wheels. Look for two small wires, running in plastic line protectors, behind each of the front wheels. There is a small connector plug that attaches to the sensors. These can get dirty and cause the problem you have. Cleaning them and using a dielectric grease might solve the problem. I have seen these get unplugged when brakes get worked on or even, on occasion, when tires get changed.

I have also seen the wires get torn apart along the undercarriage. You might want to follow them back to the main harness looking for damage.

In both circumstances you are going to want to get the car up in the air, with the tires removed and on sturdy jack stands. So you can get a clear view and have room to make any needed repair. You don't want to do this with car on it's tires.

Good Luck!

Automatic door locks will not work.

you need to take it to the dealer and have them check the bcm for codes.... also have them check to be sure you have the latest software in the bcm.. its possible that you just need a software update... there are several TSB's covering the concern you have..... it can be a very simple fix with software or even a stuck lock switch may need to be replaced... without the proper diagnostic codes being read from the bcm all that can be done is guessing..and that can be expensive...
