I have an '03 Grand Am GT. Every once in a while I will hear a sparadic clicking noise coming from the dash that sounds like the turn signal going nuts. I have had it to the shop and the "master something" was replaced in the dash, maybe for the turn signal. This did not fix the problem. I have found that when I wiggle the turn signal, I can make it stop temporarily. When I took it back to the shop, when it was still under warrenty, they would not fix it. What is the problem and how do I fix it? Also, I have 3 service lights on... service vehicle soon, ABS, and trac off. My traction control does not work either. Do I need a new sensor?
The multi-function (aka combination) switch probably has contaminated grease in the switch contacts from wear.

The clicking your hearing is most like ly the module in your steering column. it is probably getting weak and needs replacing. as far as the lights are concerned if your traction control doesn't work check the fuse in the junction box first it is under the hood. if the fuse is good then the control solenoid is malfuntioning.the abs light could be a bad wheel speed sensor or could be related to the traction control problem. you will have to hook up the vehicle to a diagnostic scan tool. my advice is take it to a small shop not the dealer ship this will save you money. the scan tool will tell which sensor is bad and it will be able to reset the codes in the ecm(engine control module ie main computer) hope this helps. please rate this....thanks
The Trac Off light is on because of the ABS malfunction. The front wheels are controlled by the ABS when a low traction situation occurs. When you repair that problem, the service vehicle soon lamp will go off. This lamp is different than the check engine lamp and resetting the engine control computer will not turn it off. The wheel speed sensors are made into the hub and bearing assembly and cost will be $100 to $125 at a parts store like Advance Auto Parts. I just repaired one of these yesterday. I am going to replace the hazard switch/flasher tomorrow to get rid of the clicking noise.
I have the same issue. I am certain it is not related to ABS or steering column. It is the sound of the directional "click, click, click" happening when you are driving and not using the turn signals. It comes from between inside the dash near the radio and it will come and go without warning or reason. I too have gotten it to stop by turn off and on a signal for a moment. I actually didn't recognize what the heck the sound was until a friend riding in my car said "why is the dash making the directional sound?" Then, I realized what it was.

I have the clicking noise that is coming from the dash.
My girlfreinds '03 Grand Am has a simular problem. A relay clicking noise in the dash between speedo and radio. She said it usually starts acting up when turn signals are used.
My wifes 03 grand am had the same issue. It definately is not the module on the dash. If that is clicking it is working the way it should. That is the relay inside pulling in and letting out. The issue is going to be in the mutifunction device, like mentioned earlier. You have to pull the column apart and either take it apart and repack it with fresh grease or buy an new one for around $75 (the screws on the column or a torx t25). Just be carefull putting the part back in there is a reset switch that resets the directional when the steering wheel turns back that needs to be depressed before you put the multifunction device back in.
i have a 2002 pontiac grand am i also had a clicking comming from the dash and it was the blinker mech the dealer replaced it and it fixed the problem that was the blinker handle and the wiper handle they told me that it was all 1 unit is this true
