2000 chrysler cirrus - Car usually starts very quickly. 2 wks ago drove to several places and turned car off and on again. Stopped for 10 min and tried to start car and it will crank but not catch. Strong crank and sometimes seem to try to start. Could smell fuel so let it sit for 15+ mins and tried (in case it was flooded). Still no start. Later that night we were able to get it started by continually cranking it. It was very rough and no power at low speed. Struggled to get speed up but got better with the speed. A lot of hesitation/missing. At one point around 40mph the rpms went up on their own but no extra power (car did not accelerate). They went back down seconds later. Checked fuses and relays. Spark plugs are getting a spark. Several days later drained gas tank and installed a new fuel pump and filter in the tank. Put the fuel back in. Still no start. Checked fuel pressure at rail. No pressure with engine off. Can get up to about 10psi by cycling key on and off several times without starting car (it won't start anyway). There was a small fuel leak in the metal line near the gas tank. This was repaired and still no pressure. Camshaft sensor replaced, temperature sensor replaced.
Note: Blew head gasket last year. It was repaired, but since that time when you start the motor it revs up rpms and then slowly comes down. Sometimes when I am in a hurry I will put it into gear too quickly (with foot on brake) and cause the motor to die. When I restart it, it does not start quite so quickly but maybe takes 10-15 seconds instead of firing right up. I may have done that right before it would not start. I do not remember but it is quite possible. Also since that headgasket repair, when you turn the car off it will gurgle in the overfill tank for a while. It did that before the repair all of the time. Then after the repair it did not do it for about 2 weeks then started occasionally doing it and it progressed in frequency. I make sure to keep plenty of antifreeze/water in it.
Thanks for your help.

1. check the fuse box and check every fuse all of the are not blown up.
2. check the battery wires and check the battery have enough charge in it.
3. check the plugs
if all of these things work correctly then it will start working again.
I doubt the service person did anything wrong. In today's cars with both engine and body computers, jump starting a car can be risky. You're better off having the battery charged for an hour or so then trying to start it. You may have to have the body computer scanned and possibly flashed to get everything working again. The body computer controls everything you mentioned. It could have lost some of the factory programming when the system was dead.
I would contact a Chrysler dealer and speak to a tech, they will answer for free. They would know best what may be going on.Sounds kind of like it needs a reset. That's all I got. When in doubt, contact a dealer. If they want money, call around is some basic advice I use for not too many problems but this one qualifies.Good luck!
