2005 CTS 3.6 Dead battery, key stuck, service anti theft and nothing happens when you turn key, Ttried everything, ECM reset, key memory reset, charged battery to 12.7 volts, locked door w remote and opened w key, anyway you get the idea. After 3 days of online reading and trying, THIS IS WHAT WORKED, 1. put key into on position 2. removed sarter relay from front fuse panel 3. jumped 1st pin closest to fender and passenger seat with pin that is closest to motor and front fender. I used a paper clip and just made contact long enough for car to start. ran car for five minutes and took key out and everything went back to normal. then I took car to advance auto parts to have engine light reset. if car does not go back to normal you have ECM (car computer) failure. video on YouTube under "no crank, no start"
Charge battery key will come out or under key cylinder on steering column small plug remove plug and with a small screw driver or wire hanger push up on key release turn key back and remove
All caddy's are not the same. I'm talking about 2006 dts and they always talk cts or another model. I only wish to inquire about 2006 dts only. Like to get my stuck key out on my dts is like a hex head but won't turn. So now I don't know what to look for, but it ain't the same as the cts
really---- its a gm product the model is style and mods to get a key out is the same procedure and this question is not yours you are bouncing off it the original was a cts not your vehicle and i answered this over 2 yrs ago

SOURCE: theft system locked
To get the key out; look under the steering wheel for a plastic flat head screw. untwist it and then push the spring in and your key will be free. Then, go to your fuse box and remove the main fuses and you will hear the doors unlock when the system reset itself. Plug them back in and start your car. This just happened to me... seems the only things that were working were the navigation screen, headlights, fog lights, and reading light on the inside. Dash board was all dark except the engine light.

If the steering will lock is on take pressure off the lock by turning the steering wheel one way or the other. Otherwise if it just jams up oil the hole where the key goes then this will help the tumblers from getting stuck. Next would be have a new key made. If that doesn't do it replace the lock. Good luck.
Testimonial: "Thank you very much.. The steering wheel does move so when I am able to get the key out I will try the oil... What kind of oil"
