This Eagle will be idleing just fine and then suddenly die it will restart just fine and then maybe run for a few seconds or a minute and die again. But it is not consitance in its behavior sometimes it will start up just fine run the way it is supposed to without any problems, and sometimes it wont. The check engine light has never came on, but i did run the codes on it and it showed a 12 and a 55 code if anybody can help me with these codes or the illment of my Eagle i would surly appreciate it. My Eagle needs help!
12 means the battery has been disconnected in the last fifty start cycles and 55 is showing you it is done testing the ecu. Almost always idles issues are contributed to the aic motor. usually they gey get carbon around the valve seat not allowing it to fully close or open easily fixed by cleaning with carb cleaner.
Check for a dirty injector
Engine stall or RPM fluctuates
at idle.
This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control
