Hi, The fuel filter is near
that side, check for any leak and get it fixed in the connecting line or the filter.
You can do it by your own or take it to the nearest auto zone. Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept
the suggestion.
Thank you for contacting fixya.com
I would have it towed to a trusted shop in your area. What can be done is have the line cut and brass fittings can be installed to repair this line. It does take special tools and someone skilled at doing this or it will continue to leak and cause a potential safety hazard. This really shouldn't cost any more than $100 and I think that is high. Let me know if you need anything else.
There is a metal line coming from the fuel pump/filter assembly. This line runs up under the hood to feed the fuel injectors. It sounds like a crack has formed in the line routed under the seat by way of the frame. They can precisely cut the line to have 2 clean ends. Place the brass crush fittings and flare nuts onto the lines. There is a centre fitting and both ends get screwed to this one centre piece and seal the line which if done properly can be just shy of a permenent fix. The only other fix is to replace the entire line which can be pricey and take some time.
This could run a few hundred dollars to get the line from BMW and then have them replace it. These are beautiful cars and I am always one for doing it proper. This suggested repair will work and not create any issues when done right. They should be able to do this repair without creating any grief for you. I would not perform this repair on a brake line but have done several for fuel lines without issue.

mine is bmw 740i year 1994, prior to the shop/garage, i wanna know what is it all about, so I am not cheated by the mechanic, tx
thanks for the reply. if the mechanic or trusted shop ask me to replace the entire line, what is the estimate cost ? I think I know the cause, prior to this problem I hit the traffic bump, maybe certain part of the fuel line got broken, is it possible, because noramlly the fuel line is made of metal and the line routed, I believe is highly protected. Appreciate your response
