12 volt socket in the front and rear seats on a vw passat is not working, whcih fuse do i need to check. thanks

Check fuses, then power to fuel sender. Check wiring condition and if you have power, check with meter at fuel sender terminals. Need to remove sender out and then, one lead to each contact, move the float and check reading. If reading fluctuates, sender good, if not, bad sender. This component if under rear seat.

You can supply 12 volts threw the cigarette lighter socket. Don't try to start it from there.

Go to bing or google images and see if there's a picture of the fuse boxes.

the wire inside the bulb socket could be rusted and broken. wire connection broken before it reach the bulb. socket mostly burn up or dirty, missing a seat. replace socket and test the socket wire connection. wrong bulb also

I found the fuse. There is one in the door for the front Lighter but the one for the rear lighter is under the dash with all the relays. You have to remove the bottom of the dash panel and the fuse is in the panel with the relays.

For 1998 VW Passat V6 the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram.
The cigarette lighter fuse for 1998 VW Passat V6 is placed in the fuse box / relay plate fascia 1, (driver's door open). See pictures below:

Fuse no.# 33 - F33 (15 Amp.) = Cigarette lighter

for the cigarette lighter its the fuse passenger compartment under the driver leg it the fuses for 12 volt sockets front and rear seat in a 2005 s80 volvo

fuses are usually in the glove box or under the drivers dash or under the drivers side hood either physically inspect every fuse by pulling them one by one or the aid of a test light and a good ground to the test light

check under seat, there are 3 sets of wires, they could be coroded, these wires run all the windows door, any thing that is for useing the power, i know just had it fixed 245, 00 later,,
