SOURCE: no tail lights working on honda 2008 CR-V
Did you install the converter, which allows you to use the separate turn signal bulbs? If not, then you did pop the fuse.

-check the dimmer relay under the hood , in the fuse and relay box.
- check the tail light relay located passenger's side behind the glove box

This sounds like a bad brake light switch, this switch is located on the bracket that holds brake pedal,you can test for power at switch,also if you remove connector and jump terminals with a wire and see if lights lite, if lights light then switch is bad,

Did you fix this? I have the same issue....honda states it is a controller unit (after the fuse box....before the lights) If there was a short, there is NO protection!! An obvious design flaw.....$350 part + labor. Let me know how you resolved your issue? EdB
