I removed the battery and when i put it back i cant turn on the radio it ask me for a Code and i dont Know it

The radio dont work ,you disconnect the battery or battery came dead. The radio ask for security code on the screen when lit

If so you had to ask the dealer for the code he will charge you he had to open an invoice to Detroit Michigan.So YOU cannot have your radio stolen. If you disconnect the battery you have to put a back up battery 9 volt thru lighter will do to keep memory to the radio

You alarm system monitor the radio. You basically disabled the vehicle when you removed the radio. You will need the original radio with the radio code and install it back. Your driver door lock is what turns it off and what turns it on. You have a 1996 Jetta find a electrical auto repair who is willing to do this (I do this all the time) Disable the alarm first get rid of the horn there is only on on the outer drivers side the alarm horn will have to be cut. From there acces the fuse box under the driver dash find the starter relay and bypass it. There your done no alarm and you can put any radio on .

This is due to the anti-theft in the radio. Open the fuse box under the hood, pull two fuses; radio and radio back-up, put the 2 fuses back in. Turn the radio ON, it should ask for your code. Pull out the ash tray and see if you have the 5 digit code there. Enter the code and the radio should now work.

If its asking for a code then its the factory radio, the problem with the code for a radio is that you cant just get a code. You have to go to the dealership and they run ur vin number and give u the code then. They will fix it but MAKE SURE you write the number down they wont want to give u the number but make them. Only dealerships can do this. good luck

Your car came with a Radio code Card. It slides into the manual cover. The dealer can get the code for you if you cant find the card by looking up your VIN and getting your warranty information.

I think you need a new battery.
Replace it and the radio will probably reset ok when you input the code..
