SOURCE: Head bolt torque specs needed for 96 tbird 3.8

Head bolts are torque to yeild so you MUST use new bolts.
Tighten cylinder head retaining bolts in numerical sequence in three steps as follows:

  1. 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
  1. 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  1. 50 Nm (37 lb-ft)
Loosen retaining bolts one at a time two to three revolutions and retighten as follows:

Long bolts:
  • Tighten to 40-50 Nm (30-37 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Short Bolts:
  • Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Here is a pic of the sequence

I would like to know what the torque specs are on a head bolt for a 2008 chevy avalanche 5.3 with an aluminum block .

There is no torque spec for these bolts. They start with an initial torque, and then turn 90 degrees, and then 70 degrees. Also, there are diffferent size bolts that affect the order. Here is a diagram of the head below and the directions:

  2. Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts (1-10) a second pass in sequence to 90 degrees using J 45059.
  3. Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts (1-10) a final pass to 70 degrees using J 45059.
  4. Tighten the M8 cylinder head bolts (11-15) to 30?N·m (22?lb?ft). Begin with the center bolt (11) and alternating side-to-side, work outward tightening all of the bolts.

Toyota 2c. I need cylinder head and flywheel Torque settings

Toyota 2c ...
USE NEW BOLTS...
Torque sequence:
You're driving a diesel single cylinder head engine. Engine head torque has to be done in specific order and stages if not can warp head or break bolts. Suggest you get torque sequence and torque specs from your Toyota dealer, they can give you correct answer. Don't trust answers on here, if you choose wrong specs. could end up messing up head.
