Tuned up car changed 02 sensor full tank of fuel still running rough

check your Fuel injectors, you may have a injector stuck open. or a bad EGR valve / o2 sensor this will make the smell of fuel in the exhaust as well. But if the car is running rough then look more at the injectors. start your car now unplug a injector and see if it changes the sound of the car motor if it starts to run rough then plug it back in if one you unplug don't change the motor while it is running then that will be the injector that is bad .

You might want to check the wires that go to the 02 sensor it sounds like when the tune up was done the wires may of become dis-connected. Unless of course the tune up was done to correct the problem. In that case first check for gas leak under car and around gas tank, if OK then, next ( I take it there's no check engine light on) borrow a fuel pressure tester from Auto Zone and test the fuel pressure After you've hooked up the tester run the engine a few minutes then shut it off and watch the gauge it it slowly drops you more then likely have a leaking fuel injector.If in fact this is the case, before you replace the injector run the fuel down to 1/4 tank and add a good fuel injector cleaner to the gas and run until close to empty. Put fuel in tank and drive at least 50 miles to allow fuel system to clean out. If still the same then the injector is bad. Note; You could also have a bad 02 sensor but that should set the check engine light.

It can be issue with low fuel pressure,the fuel pump is getting old both needs to be checked.Also get the IAC valve checked.

Well it is a 91 so its 21 yrs old and like us all when we get old liable to give problems ,remove the sender unit in the tank and check the fuel gauze filter on the bottom ,if this is not the cause then check the fuel line pressure on the injector bar ,on this is a tyre vale looking thing connect a gauge up to this when it doesnt run and check the pressure should be 55lbs

I WOULD REPLACE DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTOR.MARK LOCATION OF ROTOR OR MAKE NOTE SO YOU CAN INSTALL NEW ROTOR IN CORRECT FIRING POSITION. IF THIS CAR HAS A LOT OF MILES I WOULD REPLACE DISTRIBUTOR CAP, ROTOR.SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES.REPLACE IGNITION COIL.CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS, FILL GAS TANK UP TO 3/4 TO FULL TANK OF GAS POUR CAN SEAFOAM IN FUEL TANK IT WILL FLUSH OUT THE FUEL INJECTORS WHILE ENGINE RUNNING OR DRIVING CAR. REPLACE FUEL FILTER. REASON I SAY DO A TUNE UP PROBLEM COULD BE MINOR FIX.COULD NEED TUNE UP.IF TUNE UP DONT HELP THEN YOUR PROBLEM IS DISTRIBUTOR OR THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR INSIDE OF DISTRIBUTOR.THAT WOULD SET OFF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.BUT I WOULD SAY TUNE UP COULD FIX PROBLEM.

i would replace the o2 sensor, sounds like the ecm is goung to loop mode

I am having the same problem with my mustang, have replaced tps, egr valve and sensor, clean maf, new plugs and wires, new fuel filter, cleaned throtle body and still having same problems....Please help!!!!!
