1995 f150 4.9 efi after a few short trips or one about 30 minutes or longer. shut truck off. try to start and will spin over and try to fire, if it does start you have to hold the gas pedal to floor till rpms pick up, if it does not start you sit about 20 to 30 minutes then it fires up no problem. check engine light is comming on when you shift to 3rd gear and will go off when rpms drop.had ignition module checked. tested fine. started doing this after tune up plugs wires cap and rotor. could coil be going bad?

Hi, Did you use Motorcraft tune-up parts or el-cheapos? If the latter than you cap/rotor may be bad. There is likely a code 'stored' in the truck's computer. See the attached video on how to read them.

If you have checked the oil and that isn't the problem, you can try changing the modulator valve. Changing the oil and filter can also work wonders.

SOURCE: back firing thru intake, tune up done-new plugs,

check your plug wires again and check the cap and rotor sounds like either a bad cap and rotor or a couple wires backwards

Check for a plugged fuel filter. If that is OK, then it is probably a bad fuel pump. Once it cools down. then it starts to work again.

Have a 99 Frontier 3.3. Started running real rough, bucking and jerking. Didn't idle. Hard to start when warm.

I have seen a few crank sensors do this. When I pulled them, they had a small crack in them. Don't know where yours is. But guessing under the harmonic balancer.

Occassionally my 1995 1.8l impreza will fail to start. Engine cranks over but does not fire. It seems to occur between 5 minutes and 30 minutes after a trip. I have replaced plugs, wires, coil, thermo...

Sounds like vapour lock in your fuel or 02 sensor bank one. However you should have check engine light on if so save money and time on the guessing scan for fault codes and repair.

No spark from ignition module on hot start

95 JEEP WRANGLER 4 CYL

No spark. I have changed out the distributor cap, rotor, wiring from coil to cap, and coil was replaced. I checked the distibutor by turning ignition key and observing the rotor turn. What else can I check. I did not observe a module.

1999 toyota tacoma Sr5 won't start

Check for fuel pressure when starting. Fuel pumps have a check valve in them that keep fuel in the rail at the injectors. If the check valve fails, the pump has to pump fuel all of the way up to the engine. Same thing with hot no-restarts. Fuel pump.
