My car has a fuse box near the battery. when you take the cover off there is a map under the cover to show what all the fuses and relays are. I would check the fuses.

HI. there are shorts present within the wiring harness. I would recommend replacing the entire wiring harness, if possible. I would also check the actual fuse to be sure that there is no corrosion or connectivity issues within that particular fuse box connection that pertains to the radio unit.
Hello Keith. Fuse number 5, which is a 10 amp fuse, in the instument panel fuse box protects the circuit you are looking for. This fuse is only live when the park lights are turned on at the headlight switch. This fuse box is on the left side of the instrument panel, down near the door jamb switch. Can you turn on the lights with the Interior light switch?. If a light works, obviously the fuse is good. You will need a wiring diagram and a test light to figure out where to start.
Well on the fuse cover it should a a label on the back of it. It should be a bad fuse or there might be a short in the wiring on the lighter socket or in your navigator charger. Hope this helps!?

I just bought a 1988 silverado also, the wipers ,power windows and windshield washer fluid only work "when they want to" I think I have a bad ground somewhere.
