It is just due for a service, if it has been serviced recently it could have been that it was serviced slightly before its due time and the display noew needs to be reset. if you want to know how to do it yourself mail me on [email protected] its really basic and easy.

I just bought a VW 1.4 Polo, when I start it comes 'service INSP,' after about 4 km it show just 'service'. Its moving fine but this message is worrying me, what should I do, ignore it or it...

The "INSP" message becomes flashing on the dash after 15000 km or after 1 year, depending which one occuring first. Therefore it's very probable that one year had passed, or 15000 km. Service due!

Service reset

tdisline_758.jpg

1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Press and hold the reset button [1] (see the above picture).
3. Turn the ignition ON.
4. "SERVICE" appears on the display.
5. Release the button [1].
6. Turn the button to the right.
7. The service indicator shows: "---".
8. Turn the ignition OFF.
9. The system is reset.
