1994 olds 88 regency 3.8 L At times engine will not turn over. It will always turn over first start, when driving to destination, will come back and will not turn over. Let set for 10 to 20 minutes will turn over. This problem is consistently hit or miss with no check engine lite display. Car will get me anywhere but can't guarantee that it will get me back..... thanks Larry

Ground problem. 3 Main ones . Battery to engine, battery to body and engine to body.

Check the fuel relay

You need to run a fault code test on the electronic engine control module. You can learn how to do that here

Hi All your love, Lucky boy, The vehicle is fairly old and I suspect it has a points and condenser ignition system. Renew the points and replace the condenser. Set the gap to .45 mm and then set up the firing position by loosening the distributor locking base and setting it at 6 degrees before top dead center. I think it is not a fuel problem but instead, ignition timing. Regards John

Without a scan tool bridge the pins,turn key to on,not start and count the 'service engine soon' blinks to retrieve the codes.Good luck!

We had this same problem. It turned out to be the computer. We had the computer replaced and it worked great for awhile but now there's something else wrong with it. Hope this helps and good luck.

Check your throttle position sensor.

It may be your harmonic balance. do you hear a rattling noise when it runs?
If not it could be a bad or going bad starter.
