I would imagine you are talking about the serpentine belt? Check under the hood on the top of your radiator there should be a diagram with that info. You have a tension er that tightens the belt after you will have to apply tension to after you have followed the direction of the diagram then you wrap the belt around the tension er last then re leave tension and the belt should be tight. If you dont have a diagram there check in your door jambs. If not there you can go to the nearest auto parts store and see if they will print you out the diagram when you purchase the belt.

When was the last time you had a MAJOR tune up? Other than that, it could be as simple as adjusting the throttle.

1987 Jeep Wagoneer Tail Lights out, Brake lights work.

hello, sounds like something is unpluged, dash lights have small bulbs in the basils, they do not normally blow, do you have the wright tail light bulbs in , they are not all the same, i would check them first, if you had to , you could run a jumper wire from your parking light in front to the rear tailights, just the running light only, there is two or three wires that run to tailights, you might could try that, friend of mine has done that,

Engage 4 WD 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

There usually are instructions above the sun visor. To engage, just pull the lever into the gear you want while rolling. (work best that way) use low only for pulling something out of mud etc. try to avoid using on dry pavement as that will wear the transfer case faster. Use N setting if your vehicle needs to be towed. After using if it fails to disengage, usually backing up about twenty feet will fix that.

Everytime i turn anything on in 1987 jeep wagoneer

It sounds to me like you need your charging system checked out. Before you do make sure your alternator belt is tight enough that you can't turn the alternator by hand, tighten if necessary before it is checked. What you describe would suggest that the alternator is maxxed out putting out enough power to run the engine and that's all and the battery is low enough that there is no reserve to run anything. Alternator output should be close to 13.5 volts at idle. The battery should be "load tested" to ensure that it is good. Any shop will have the proper tool for that. A load test will show whether or not the battery can deliver the power required and bounce back. Hope this helps.
