Oil pan removal
1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.

2. Raise vehicle on hoist.

3. Drain engine oil and remove oil filter.

4. Remove oil filter adaptor from engine block

5. Remove structural collar

6. Remove lateral bending brace.

7. Remove transaxle dust cover.

8. Remove oil pan bolts.

9. Remove oil pan.

What kind of problems? Is there 'sludge' in the rocker? Has it had an oil change recently? Has it had a new oil filter? Have you checked the 'oil control valve filter? blocked? probably... Does the engine management come up with a fault light? Have you plugged in a OBD2 reader? Try these things ...or see a Doctor..lol

REMOVAL - 2.0, 2.4, 2.4L TURBO
The Crankshaft Position Sensor is in the front of the engine block just under the starter motor (CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR LOCATION).

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Raise vehicle and support.
On 2.4L SRT-4 remove the lower inner cooler hose from the metal tube.
Remove the Structural Collar (Structural Collar and Bending Strut-(Automatic Transaxle Equipped) ), refer to the Engine, Structural Collar Removal and Installation section.
Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector to the crankshaft position sensor.
Remove the crankshaft position sensor bolt.
Remove the sensor. Arrow points to sensor in picture.

Hi. You might need to Replace the oil pan gasket is the oil is leaking. Here's the procedure on how to Replace the oil pan gasket.

1. Jack up the front end of the car and slide a jack stand under the vehicle. Make sure the jack stand is securely in place, and then put blocks in front of the rear wheels to keep them from rolling.

2. Slide under the car and put a drain pan under the drain plug of the oil pan. Loosen the drain plug with a socket wrench and allow all of the old oil to drain into the pan. Remove the old oil filter.

3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the dipstick and its housing. Remove the collar on the rear of the oil pan. If the vehicle is equipped with engine oil cooler lines that lead to the oil pan, remove them as well, along with transmission oil cooler clips.

4. Remove the bolts holding the oil pan, and carefully remove the oil pan. Remove the old gasket. Scrape it with a putty knife if necessary, but be very careful not to scratch the surface.

5. Wipe out the oil pan with a clean cloth or paper towel, and wipe the joining surface of the oil pan with cleaning fluid or solvent. Apply a thin bead of automotive sealer and install the new gasket.

6. Replace the oil pan, tightening the bolts securely. Replace the transmission oil cooler clips, engine oil cooler lines, oil pan collar, dipstick housing and dipstick, and reconnect the negative battery cable. Install a new oil filter.

7. Take the car off the jack stand and fill the engine with the appropriate amount of SAE 10W-30 or SAE 5W-30.

engine oil?? any multigrade i would recomend that you use the cheapest petrol/diesel oil from a supermarket then change oil every 6000m and a oil filter every third oil change this will keep the inside of the engine clean and free from gunk and muck which can block the oil pick up pipe filter and cause the engine to seize

2.4L Non-Turbo Engine

Remove or disconnect the following:

Negative battery cable Air cleaner box cover Engine structural collar Starter electrical connectors Starter To install:

1. Install the starter and torque the bolts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm). Attach the starter electrical connectors.
2. Install the engine structural collar on models with a automatic transaxle as follows, refer to the illustration for bolt locations:
   1. Place the collar in position and hand tighten the collar to transaxle bolt.
   2. Position the power steering hose support bracket and install the collar to oil pan bolt.
   3. Place the bending strut in place and hand start the bolt.
   4. Install the bolt through the strut and collar and hand tighten.
   5. Place the power steering hose support bracket in position and install and hand tighten the remaining bolts.
   6. Tighten the collar-to-transmission bolts to 75 ft. lbs. (101 Nm).
   7. Install the bolts through the strut and into the block.
   8. Tighten the remaining bolts to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm).
   
   
3. Install the engine structural collar on models with a manual transaxle as follows, refer to the illustration for bolt locations:
   1. Place the collar in position and hand tighten the collar to transaxle bolt.
   2. Position the power steering hose support bracket and install the collar to oil pan bolt.
   3. Position the clutch slave cylinder into position and hand start the bolts.
   4. Tighten bolts (1) to 75 ft. lbs. (101 Nm).
   5. Tighten bolts (2 and 5) to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm).
   6. Tighten bolts (3 and 4) to 20 ft. lbs. (28 Nm).
4. Install the air cleaner box cover and connect the negative battery cable.

2.4L Turbo Engine

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   
   Negative battery cable Air cleaner box cover Upper starter bolt by pushing the inner cooler up and out of the way Inner cooler lower hose from the inner cooler Nuts retaining the inner cooler tube Studs retaining the power steering lines Position the power steering lines aside Engine structural collar Starter electrical connectors Starter

To install:

1. Install the starter and torque the bolts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm). Attach the starter electrical connectors.
2. Install the engine structural collar on models with a automatic transaxle as follows, refer to the illustration for bolt locations:
   1. Place the collar in position and hand tighten the collar to transaxle bolt.
   2. Position the power steering hose support bracket and install the collar to oil pan bolt.
   3. Place the bending strut in place and hand start the bolt.
   4. Install the bolt through the strut and collar and hand tighten.
   5. Place the power steering hose support bracket in position and install and hand tighten the remaining bolts.
   6. Tighten the collar-to-transmission bolts to 75 ft. lbs. (101 Nm).
   7. Install the bolts through the strut and into the block.
   8. Tighten the remaining bolts to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm).
   
   
3. Install the engine structural collar on models with a manual transaxle as follows, refer to the illustration for bolt locations:
   1. Place the collar in position and hand tighten the collar to transaxle bolt.
   2. Position the power steering hose support bracket and install the collar to oil pan bolt.

4. Install or connect the following:
   
   Power steering lines aside Studs retaining the power steering lines and tighten to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm) Nuts retaining the inner cooler tube Inner cooler lower hose to the inner cooler Upper starter bolt by pushing the inner cooler up and out of the way. Tighten to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm). Air cleaner box cover Negative battery cable

OIL PAN
REMOVAL
Drain engine oil.
Remove front engine mount bracket.
Remove power-train bending strut.
Remove structural collar from oil pan to trans-axle Structural Collar - Removal and Installation
Remove trans-axle lower dust cover.
If equipped with air conditioning, remove oil filter and adapter.
Remove oil pan.
Clean oil pan and all gasket surfaces.
INSTALLATION
Apply Mopar® Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant or equivalent at the oil pump to engine block parting line Oil Pan Sealing
Install a new oil pan gasket to pan.
Install pan and tighten screws to 12 N·m (105 in. lbs.)
Install oil filter and adapter.
Install trans-axle lower dust cover.
Install power-train bending strut.
Install front engine mount and bracket
CAUTION: The torque procedure for the structural collar must be followed, as damage to oil pan or collar could occur.

Install the structural collar Structural Collar - Removal and Installation using the following 3 step torque sequence:
Step 1: Install the collar to oil pan bolts and tighten to 3 N·m (30 in. lbs.)
Step 2: Install collar to trans-axle bolts and tighten to 108 N·m (80 ft. lbs.)
Step 3: Final torque the collar to oil pan bolts to 54 N·m (40 ft. lbs.)
Fill engine crankcase with proper oil to correct level.

Auto Zone carries the Oil pan you need for around $75.00 and they will have the step by step instructions for you to replace the oil pan. will take just over 2 hours for the average person. Good luck and keep me posted.

Make sure you work in a very clean area when exposing the engine internals such as you will be doing. 

First drain the oil and remove the oil filter. This should be an obvious starting point, but it is still worth mentioning. 

Under the car, you should have a small black metal structural collar that connects the oil pan to the transmission bell housing. Remove the four bolts that mount this, and remove it. Then remove the 10+ small bolts around the edge of the pan. The pan may be stuck very tightly to the engine block. Be careful of the mating surface where the pan contacts the bottom of the engine block. Do not use a metal crow bar or screw driver in an attempt to separate the oil pan from the block. Wiggling the pan back and forth or prying with a hard plastic or composite prying device should separate the pan with minimal effort. 

If you are installing a new oil pan, buy a new oil pan gasket. Also purchase a small tube of gasket sealant. It is very inexpensive and is without a doubt one of the most valuable oil pan purchases you will make.

Remove all traces of old gasket material and sealant from both mating surfaces. Acetone will dissolve old gasket material, and so will gasoline, to a lesser degree. Check to see that there is no obvious warping on either mating surface by pressing a straightedge to each surface and checking for any gaps. Minuscule warping is not uncommon and will not cause any problems.

Apply a thin bead of the sealant on the flat mating edge and position the gasket on the pan. Press the gasket straight onto the bead of sealant and wipe off any excess. 

Then apply another thin bead of sealant to engine block mating surface, being careful not to leave an excessive amount inside the engine. A small amount will not do any damage, but always best to introduce as few foreign substances to your oil as possible. Position the pan on the block and reinstall the oil pan bolts. Tighten the bolts in three steps, working up to full torque. When tightening the bolts, always begin in the center of the pan and work toward the ends. This is a common tightening sequence and will ensure a firm, even fit.

Once all the bolts are reinstalled, reattach the structural collar and torque those bolts as well.

Give the gasket sealant an hour to cure before refilling with oil. After that you should be all set. Best of luck to you.
