I have a 2008 C70 with 25K miles. Suddenly, with no previous warning, the car will not start. The key WILL turn all the way to the start position and electronics are powered on but engine will not turn over. Error message says "Steering Locked Turn Wheel" However, The steering wheel is NOT locked. In fact, the steering wheel will turn all the way from right to left even with the key out and in locked position. The owners manual indicates that this condition could happen if the car is parked against a curb. However, it is sittting in my garage on level concrete. Any help woud be appreciated. Please email to [email protected] Thanks, John Hamilton

You car is still under warranty and i would suggest that you call the dealer and complain about it. Because its should be cover for 5 years or 100.000 miles. Good luck

10k miles added to my odometer after oil change and reset light

The oil change light will come on automatically after a set number of miles (possibly 7,000 for your car). Here's how to reset the oil light:

(a) Set the odometer display window to ODO with the button.
(b) Turn the ignition switch (key) off.
(c) Press and hold down the reset button, and then turn the key to the ON or ACC position. Keep holding down the reset button for at least 5 seconds after you've turned the key.
(d) The next time you start your car the warning light should be off.

2008 Toyota 4Runner maintenance light is on eventhough I did changed the oil. How do I reset it?? I tried one of the suggestions which included turning the key to on and resetting the trip miles but...

You were close with re-setting the trip miles. Here are the steps:

(1) Turn key on, but do not start car. Keep pushing the trip miles button until you get to the odometer miles (the total mileage of the car), not the trip miles.

(2) Trun key off.

(3) Push and HOLD the reset button with one hand, then turn the key on (do not start the car) with the other.

(4) While you continue to HOLD in the reset button, you will notice the various warning lights blink and turn off. After about 10 seconds, release the reset button.

(5) Turn key off, then turn key back on and start car. The maintenance light will be off.

2008 Dodge Avenger SE oil pressure light?

Don't worry about the oil pressure light, they key was on, the engine was running and suddenly stalled, the system saw it as low oil pressure on a running engine situation and warned U, it is not the cause of the stall, the stall is most likely related to the following.

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
