Central locking my central locking was working fine until the alarm was triggered. Ive been told that you can re-set it. Any ideas ?

Some ideas here, but the best way is to find a local auto electrician or an alarm installer, auto locksmith. Better to reprogram rather than disconnecting the battery.

Check fuses, remote control battery, try to push "unlock" button 5 or more times. If it won´t help, you need Tech-2 diagnostics.

as cars run DC power the polarity doesn't matter in a solenoid unit such as door lock if it has 2 wires ( power wire and earth wire ) Just reverse the wiring and it should work

just drive it to dealer ,its encrypted software as its a europeon market vehicle so they get away with making everything dealer only by encrypting the software ,sorry to be the harbringer of good news just before christmas with a dealer rubbing his hands in glee thinking not only the turkey but the trimmings as well ,expect to have to have a new computer fitted and a bill with a meal of around 1200 pounds .buy a 1950 morris minor next time around or a triumph herald ,and if you find a MK4 zodiac send it to me pretty please

you need to reset the alarm/immobiliser,(or if that dont work,check battery charge).its been awhile since i worked for toyota so forgive me if i pass on how to reset.(ive forgotten)

Hi I wonder if you can advise me ,my central locking and alarm is very unreliable it keeps making a beep before the ignition goes on and clicking,it sometimes sets the alarm off,Ive had the AA round and theyve told me the car battery is dead,which I appreciate,but think the key hub central locking or alarm is running the battery low does the hand held button need a new battery,or can I take the fuse out for the central locking,dont want to pay 66 quid for a new battery if I can pay 2 quid for a new battery for the central locking button,or demobilize it

must be the central locking module. its different from the cars alarm.

I've been dealing with similar problems (windows and sunroof dead, power locks iffy, dome light doesn't work, random chiming) and best I can figure is:

a) get rid of the leak and any standing water
b) depending on the year of your car check the relays and/or central locking module

I spent a lot of time checking the ECU and door interior parts and those were both dead ends. I also thought the standing water on the floor might be shorting actual wiring, but now I've eliminated that as well. Although my alarm hasn't been going off, the "door chime" has and the instrument cluster sometimes shows 3 or 4 doors open while driving. VAG-COM showed some alarm trip type faults as well. Central locking is my next move when I've got some time.

It means that the remote is not passing the signal to the car . The alarm has triggered because the system has detected an illegal entry. Replace the remote batteries
