Head / fog light adjustment

Hello there, I need help on adjusting the head / fog lights on my 94 toyota supra. Each head, fog & high beam lamps are fixed in one assembly and each have a vertical & horizontal "beam angle movement gauge". The problem seems to be on the passenger side, adjusting the aim to the guided "acceptable range" the headlight off and aimed too low, pointing towards the ground ? does the fog lamp aim also affect the the headlight beam angle movement gauge ? is there a sequence of adjustments required to correct "beam angle" ? (Please note car does have a full tank of gas & is on level ground to ensure accurate aim) Is there a web site you can suggest that may help ?  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated !! Wendy

On each headlamp assembly, there will be either one or two plastic nuts that you can turn.

If you only have one nut on each, that will adjust the vertical aim of the headlights.

If you have two nuts on each, one will adjust the vertical and the other will adjust the horizontal.

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

How do i adjust fog lights on a 94 ranger?

the main beam of the light should be slightly down from centre of the light. They should be located as close as possible to the road as their purpose is to shine under the fog cloud and reduce refraction of the light through the fog. Any emergency button on the road will be seen through the fog

Integration relay

check the lamp itself to be sure it isnt burned out... check the main fuse and relays under the hood... check for bad wires throughout the lighting system (time consuming and tedius)

Well, the problem is that I dont know the reason, you should investigate. There could be issues with lamps (must get new) or electricity problems (must head to auto-service)

Headlight beam direction

Park the vehicle on a level surface, with the fuel tank about 1 / 2full and with the vehicle empty of all extra cargo (unless normallycarried). The vehicle should be facing a wall which is no less than 6feet (1.8m) high and 12 feet (3.7m) wide. The front of the vehicleshould be about 25 feet from the wall:
  1. If aiming is to be performed outdoors, it is advisable to waituntil dusk in order to properly see the headlight beams on the wall. Ifdone in a garage, darken the area around the wall as much as possibleby closing shades or hanging cloth over the windows.
  2. Turn the headlights ONand mark the wall at the center of each light's low beam, then switchon the brights and mark the center of each light's high beam. A shortlength of masking tape which is visible from the front of the vehiclemay be used. Although marking all four positions is advisable, markingone position from each light should be sufficient.

Fig. The head light alignment adjusters are located on the backof the assembly. Access holes are provided as necessary-2.0L Passat GLSmodel shown

Head lamps are adjusted from above. Do the following:
1. Open the hood
2. Look on top by the head lamps you should see two service holes (oneouter and one inner) where you will see a plastic adjustment screwwhich requires a hexagon wrench or a flathead screw driver that fits. Note the outer alignment screw is the hole located on top eg. driver side head lamps outter being the hole on the right side. innerbeing the alignment screw located in the hole on the left side of thedriver side head lamp assembly.
3. Lateral adjust/ horizontal adust is the right side hole.(which way to turn I've forgotten try incremental trial and error tilyou determine which way is left and which way is moving the beam to theright)
4. Vertical adjust is the adjustment screw located on theleftside of driver side headlamps assembly from above. turn counterclockwise to raise and clockwise to drop. its been awhile so i'm notquite sure .
5. Passenger side lateral and vertical adjust is symetrical. rememberoutter hole from above is lateral adjust and inner hole to the right inthis case for passenger side is vertical adjust.

Need a fuse box diagram to wire in fog lights

Fog lamps are installed on the front bumper. The switch is located to the left of the steering column on the dash panel. The fog lamps are turned off by the circuit relay when the high beam driving lamps are turned on. The circuit relay is located on the right front wheelhouse panel near the blower motor.

Good luck, and remember rated this help.
Removal & InstallationFog Lamp Element
See Figure 1
558610d.gif
Fig. 1: Exploded view of a fog lamp assembly

  1. Remove the lamp stone shields, the four bezel attaching screws, and the bezel.
  2. Remove the reflector assembly from the lamp body.
  3. Remove the bulb holder from the assembly. Remove the element from the bulb.

DO NOT handle elements with your bare hands, always handle with a clean cloth. Oil from your hands will cause the element to fail.
  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Fog Lamp Switch
The fog lamp switch is removed and installed by simply prying the switch from the instrument panel and unplugging the electrical connector.
FOGLAMP BEAM ADJUSTMENT

  1. Position the vehicle on a level surface, facing a wall approximately 25 feet away. Remove the lamp stone shields and loosen the adjustment nuts.
  2. Turn the fog lamps ON and adjust as follows:
    1. Distance between the light beam centers should be equal to the distance between the lamp assemblies on the bumper.
    2. Height of the light beams on the wall should be 4 inches less than the center of the lamp assemblies when mounted on the bumper.
  3. Install all previously removed items after turning OFF the fog lamps.
