I am furious!! My Fleetwood Bayside camper is made of ABS plastic. When purchased, we assumed it was good quality as it was the most expensive camper out there. ABS plastic cannot withstand temperature extremes, and we live in Illinois, therefore all the plastic parts on the camper began cracking before our second trip with the camper. The entire front storage lid is trashed and recently ripped nearly in half on the highway and flew up, the latches have nothing to hold onto because the plastic holding the metal for the latches completely broke off, the camper smells like mold because it leaks, mice got into the cracks and ate wholes in the canvas and left **** clinging to every fabric surface.
We tried repeatedly to get some help from Coleman and our dealer to no avail. After this last episode, I called Coleman in PA and spoke to the head of warranties; he had no empathy whatsoever, and insisted that the one year warranty against cracking is a hard and fast rule, even though most people only take their campers out once a summer and probably wouldn't even notice the problem until after a year has passed.
I am currently awaiting a call from a "nicer" dealer who is to give me prices for all the parts that need to be replaced; I am very concerned, however, that if I buy replacement parts made of the same plastic, I'll simply repeat the same problems and be out more money. Do you have any advice for me? If the parts are riduculously costly, is there some sort of caulk or epoxy that would be effective in repairing the cracks? If so, I may just have to replace the storage lid and caulk the rest of it.
HELP!! I appreciate anything you can tell me.
Sincerely,
Bonnie Cimo

Even though Fleetwood no longer manufactures Travel Trailers you may still want to call Fleetwood RV Owner Relations at 1-800-322-8216 and see if they can help you out with locating a manual.
You could also try ebay and see if anyone is selling a manual.
I am assuming this is while you are driving the vehicle? The light should come on and turn off at start up, as the ABS computer runs a self check. If the issue presents itself while driving, it is likely a wheel speed sensor that is starting to fail. If the computer looses the signal it will turn on the dash light, when it sees a signal again it will turn the light off. Could be a broken wire between the chassis and wheel speed sensor or a bad sensor. If you can, check the ABS codes, they should be stored.
Any place that sells campers can advise you. I would disconnect the water supply line underneath the camper and open all faucets. This will drain the lines. Pour some antifreeze especially designed for this purpose in the toilet and in all sinks. Don't forget to flush the toilet and pour a little in the tank after you turn the water off. This will prevent the traps from freezing.
