2003 Volkswagen Jetta Seatbelt is sticking

I recently bought a used 2003 VW Jetta. The passenger side seat belt was replaced after a minor accident along with the passenger side door. I've had this car for a few days now and all of a sudden, the seat belt on the passenger side wont work. It locked up, and then a few hour later was working again, but now once again it is stuck and I can not get it to come out. I bought it private party so there was no warranty so what I am wondering is if this is something that can be fixed, or do I need to go and have it replaced all together. Thanks.

I have a 2001 Jetta GLS wagon and the back middle seat belt will not pull out. At first it got difficult and now it is locked up and gets tighter every time I put the back seat down. It was hardly ever used.

The body shop either did not replace the effected belt or replaced it with a used/defective one

What does code n153 mean ]

In the future please be more specific about what you drive. So now I'm going to have to guess what you drive.

OK, 2001 Jetta, three-wire airbag plugs, two wire seatbelt plug (passenger side), four wire seatbelt plug (driver's side). Put in different seats. This is to eliminate the airbag light and restore the order: 1. Connect only positives on airbag plugs with a 4.7Ohm, 1/2 watt, 5% tolerance resistors; 2. Passenger side seatbelt plug: connect with a 2.2K Ohm, 1/2 watt, 5% tolerance resistor; 3. Driver's side seatbelt plug: bundle two positives together (in my case, red and yellow), two negatives together (two browns). Then connect with a 470 Ohm, 1/2 watt, 5% tolerance resistor. 4. Use Vag-Com to clear codes.

Passenger seat belt switch

Check under the passenger seat. I recently worked on a 2000 Jetta, it was located under the seat along the seat belt warning harness.

Front seatbelt jammed

If the seat belt has jammed, you may just need to replace the mechanism- you want it to do its job correctly when you need it
For your information,--You may need to replace the mechanism for the seat belt. If the impact restraint system has encountered what they refer to as a stage one deployment due to a minor accident, the seat belt locks up, and even though the airbag(s) hasn't deployed, there are frame sensors that may need replacing reset.
We encountered this with my daughter's 05 Focus and needed to replace the belt assembly, and a couple sensors on the frame..

Passenger seat 2006 vw jetta

I don't remember which knob adjusts that area for the seat but if it's like the one I used to own, much older model, it had a turn knob on the side of the back rest that you had to actually turn to get it to do that recline position. Look at your seat and see if it has a large knob on the side of the back rest and if it does, turn it until the seat reclines. I think it does. but not sure. if it doesn't then look on the side of the seat by the door for a lever there to see if that is the lever to make the seat recline. Vw has more than one knob most of the time. you can also check your owner's manual for seat adjusting and it should tell you something.
